HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I've chosen a deer picture this week, because a doe white-tailed deer and her twins have been visiting my house every night at dusk to eat my weeds. :-) The little male is very feisty and bold. His daddy is the impressive old buck who often sleeps in the brush by my garage.

Everyone here is eagerly awaiting the Total Solar Eclipse. At my house, the eclipse will be 93% total. I'm not going south to the path of totality.

Best wishes to everyone!

  • Dibnlib - Are Dobbies cream scones edible up your way?  In our nearest (Carlisle) they are dry and inedible!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG   Don't know, very rarely go there and certainly not to eat.

  • Just noticed death announced of Sir Bruce Forsyth - not a favourite of mine, but agree he was a legend!

Supposedly dry day - but nobody told the weather!  Wet trip down to surgery and black thunder storm while we were there.  Och, weil, maybe the fine Saturday will get it right!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG   I echo your sentiments entirely.

Dr gave me a script for patches for my heel. Unfortunately the chemist has to order them in but they should have them tomorrow.  I also mentioned my arthritic knee and she has suggested a steroid injection. I think I will go down that route and have it done when I next see her in 2 weeks time.

  • Sad to hear about the death of Sir Bruce. Someone who had been on tv forever, it seemed. He told The Queen himself that he'd had more than 70 years in show business. He was such an all round entertainer.

We've had another busy day, full of action, and I need to sit in a darkened room with a glass of something strong now that my granddaughter is in bed!

  • DIBNLIB - good idea to have knee injection at this stage.  I had mine done several times before resorting to surgery.

LINDA - I hope she sleeps well and long!  But you will be sad to wave goodbye tomorrow!.

I probably won't post tomorrow when Dau#2 is here.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Enjoy time with daughter OG.. my youngest up on the 27th for a week both Daisy and I will enjoy her company.

Weather at the start of the week variable so took up residence in Himselfs garage to restore last garden bench. So beach hut taking shape with bunting up and a new clock for the front... so enjoying growing old disgracefully (?)

I have had steroid injections for various things including tennis elbow and trigger finger all of which failed after a time... Daisy is on Golden Paste which is amazing for joints and inner things so could be joining her sometime soon.

6 cubic metres of logs arrived this morning .. as usual couldn't just look at it so a few hours of grit and radio 4 from the car had it sorted. I don't like help as it has all has to be just so.

  • I have been invited to Grandparents day next Friday. Miss5 has to dress up as her favourite book character, based on the theme “Books take you anywhere”. Dau found a book about a snail travelling with a whale [!!!] and thought about a costume. “No, I wanna be a doggie.” But it is not just dress-up, it has to be a character in a book. So Miss5 remembers some obscure book from a library, read long ago, title forgotten. I suggest Dau use the hat that looks like a wolf’s head but Dau has already tried that idea. “NO! That’s a wolf, not a doggie.” I didn’t help by wondering how Dau will cope in a few years when the Trio have to dress up for Book Week. Our family don’t need to be encouraged to read. I think Dau & Co have more books than a library. As for moi, despite giving away boxes & bags of books to local charity bookshop, I can’t see any more space.

  • Good Morning.  The sun is trying hard to peep through here, after a very wet and windy night which has only just stopped raining.

Getting going, as we have to make sure that our little family of two manage to get home today without forgetting anything, including the presents carefully packed for Ambers birthday at the end of the month. (A toy cash register with realistic money was requested, and we've added some baskets of groceries, a new cardigan and some books).

Putting my thinking hat on for Miss5, AQ, and wondering what character she could be.....
