Lindybird: I love the idea of the Country Living tent - I could probably do a lot of $$$ damage there!
ForestBoar: Thanks for clarifying. Hope daughter can move there sooner than later.
Lynette: Ghastly situation for your bro with contractors peering in the windows. What a nerve!! My niece is going to Dorset (I had to Google Durdle Door) within the next couple of weeks with friends to look for fossils (they apparently got the correct tools after a previous trip!). I read Remarkable Creatures and loved it. I thought they were going to make a movie of it, but haven't been able to find if it was actually made. Love the idea of an ice cream farm! :-)
Take care all.
Good morning, all. I thought you'd like to see what happens in our home when Limpy attempts to eat anything when the birds are out:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Here's today's pic:
Awwwwww! How sweet, Lindy.
Linda - Love his trendy hairdo!
I was at Felixstowe Ferry yesterday and I happened to catch the herring gulls practising for the next sales:

Hi, I can't stop, as off for lunch with youngest brother and family who are visiting the area this week, from down South.
Pretty sure i have found OGs Blue Balls plant - it is Platycodon grandiflorus 'Astra Blue' known as the Dwarf Balloon Flower. I am interested as volunteer at the Lakeland Horticultural Society gardens at Holehird, a lovely place. I do not garden though, due to a not too good back, but am involved in the plant database and labelling.
bfn.
Good morning. Had a heavy shower last evening – don’t mind at that time as less watering required in the garden. White cloud today, but no rain and quite bright. Looks like morning activities indoors and then garden in the afternoon.
Lynette – enjoy your garden party, indoors or out! Swim first to allow cream on scones?
AQ – sorry, I thought you had found the cat pic when you were looking through the old trip diaries! Sorry the trip is off for this week. Enjoy Nanny Wednesday – I hope the girls are good for you and the weather is good enough to take them outside.
Linda – sorry you were up in the night: I hope it wasn’t a big problem. It was another hot night here.
Clare – Good pics of the Cockatiels and Limpy sharing his biscuits! Gulls have been very active around here recently, don’t know what has set them off – probably the wind.
Chrisy – thank you so much for finding my Balloon Flower! Well done. Enjoy your family lunch!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Keeping up with my holiday photos......the day after I visited Bass Rock I was at an event in the grounds of Thirlestane Castle at Lauder. The castle was closed but there was some lovely birdlife in the grounds:
Having mentioned birdlife I'm starting with a horse!
Pied wagtails are definitely feathered, though.
Naughtily I sneaked up to the castle even though it was closed! Very nice.
I don't know why all these sheep stayed under the tree but I thought it made a lovely picture.
Our lovely National Bird.
There were absolutely loads of swallows about. A stream runs behind the castle and there were a good number of them there.
WAAAAAHHHHH!
I love the way swallows feed their young!
Time for more!
Nothing enhances a magnificent stone eagle like a cheeky robin!
I hope you like these.
OG Glad you got the wheelchair organised. Hope it makes things much easier for you.
Some lovely pics, special thanks to LINDY and CLARE. I would so love to visit Tatton. Probably won't be going next year as we are on hols in July. We have booked for a Rhine river cruise. OH has never been to Germany. I lived there for 2 years in the 70's, so a revisit will be lovely. It is 11 months away, but OH is excited already!!
