Hi everyone, a mixed day, intruders about, lots of shouting and shrieking and mantling. EJ and the young ones saw them off though.
Not sure how many fish, I think 4 were delivered. All had something to eat eventually, Greedy guts (#1) hogged fish when it could but I suppose that is the norm. Middle and younges still haven't fledged but whethe they will in the next few days who knows as the weather forecast is pretty grim for this part of the country
Leave you with the bairns all close together, sleeping. Happy viewing, see you in the morning.

Dunno JSB - sorry, I would have thought more likely an intruder ?

Thanks for putting things in perspective !! Some times when we look at them and their size, it is good to remember they are still quite young . 54 days is not 8 weeks old
Tiger from your experience do these chicks seem more advanced ?
#1 to fledged early and feeds itself so well . Even #3 manages to feed itself with a bit of extra effort.
Plus the way # 1 & #3 defended the nest on two occasions that I saw makes me think they are advanced in their development . What do you think?

She's saying come over here, it's nice and dry..........meantime the trio are beginning to get somewhat wet.
Yes she is - it must be an intruder and if it buzzes the nest she' d be there like a shot.
Hi folks, back on, and logged on to see three bairns sleeping on the nest. Thanks for all the updates and pics, some great ones which I've put in my folder.
Maybe middle one will fledge tomorrow, it was so close to doing so with the wind up today but could'nt quite make it.
There is a youtube vid on the main blog of all 5 on the nest and Odin feeding No 2. Actually the link didn't work for me so if you look at the other video and then look at all hers (Alison I think) then you can find the one called 5 on the nest.
