HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  • Heather - I hope you have surge protection on your computer devices!  We have surge protection and extra RCDs and still switch off!

Pat - J's train into Haymarket was late, he hurried to the other platform to board his second train - then found himself en route to Aberdeen instead of Inverness, so is about to get off at Dundee, and get a train to Perth and rejoin the correct line there!  Conductor says his ticket will be accepted for the new route, but of course he doesn't have his reserved seat.  This could only happen to him!!!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG- I don't know if I have surge protection, will ask one of the family oracles.  Thanks for mentioning it.

  • OG: Very much doubt J is the only person to get on the wrong train.  Made me think of that song, "Oh Mr.Porter, what shall I do? I want to go to Birmingham and they're taking me on to Crewe."  :-)

Heather: Surge protection important as OG says or you could end up with fried computer.

    Lindybird: Cute pups

PatO: Good luck with the bowls game - here's to a win.

  • There is a big white thing under OHs desk. It has lots of plugs fitted in it and it says 'Surge Master' on it. It also has a few apprentice dust bunnies clinging on to it.

  • Another glorious day but clouding over now...

Daisy doing better than expected post anaesthetic as last year it took her 3 days to recover. Had to sit in the garden with her as she so loves the sun and left to her own devices would whizz around her usual race track. OH took her to the field behind and was a bit miffed when the walk was shorter than what she thought she should have.

OH works from home with various screens etc and has a UPS to support them all.

Poor J I do hope her arrives M of O in time for tea !!!

  • Just had to Google UPS, WENDY! I am on a learning curve today, for sure.

OG- hope that J gets to his final destination, finally. Poor chap. It happened to me once, long ago.

  • Oh Heather I just go with flow...his last one died and when his new one came it weighed a ton ( full of batteries I gather). Rarely use my lap top as do most stuff on I pad and phone.

  • PS WENDY- glad that Daisy is doing OK.

I apparently have RCDs, one in house, one in garage which also protects the greenhouse electrics. Had to ask my little brother who is an electrician and has done work here for us. I need to up my game here. For too long I have left all techy things to OH :-( Thanks OG for starting me on this journey of discovery
  • I've just flagged my own post. Is there no end to this stupidity of mine? LOL

  • Heather, on the bottom RHS of your computer screen there should be something that looks like a megaphone.  If you click on that you should get a 'bar' with a 'X' on the LHS - click on that and the speakers are off.  Very simple to switch on or off as required.

We lost our bowls match disastrously - as expected.  There was that annoying drizzle most of the time we were playing, and the ground was sooooooo slow, what with last night's rain and today's precipitation.  Next match is on Saturday - and the forecast is extremely wet!!!!  I think I'll just play indoors next season.
