HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
The Full Moon is at:
5:07 a.m. Sunday morning in the U.K.
12:07 a.m. (just after midnight Saturday night) in the eastern U.S.
9:07 p.m. Saturday night in CaliforniaThe July Full Moon is traditionally called the Full Buck Moon or the Full Thunder Moon.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Evening all:
bjane: Oh good, glad you get out and about, but I can well imagine you'd be reluctant to be gone overnight. Good that your son and DiL are available to cover for you. Any chance that a bed lift might help to make daughter more important? Forestboar has a similar situation with his OH.
AQ: I love paper whites; not sure where we get them from, but your bulbs are very early indeed. I'm not a Tour de France fan (except for the France bit); am glued to Wimbledon, where you can't take your eyes off the television or you miss some brilliant move. You obviously haven't been terminally disillusioned with all the drug scandals over the last few years.
OG: Don't worry about keeping up with us; do what you want when you want.
Diane: Did you see the newest photos of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, taken by Juno? PBS has them on the News Hour website. Also saw video of flooding in Indiana. Hope it's not near you...
Harelady: Hope you're doing okay and still getting lots of support.
Have a good Thursday everyone.
Good Morning, All. Dry here.
AQ -- I love paperwhites, too. (My tablet just changed that to "parachutes") Our Youngest loves all the bike racing: he follows t he Tour de France etc., and has two bikes at home and keeps fit by riding them when he can find the time.
Hope that Diane is OK if there's flooding.
Everyone have a good Thursday!
Here's today's pic:
Early morning cuppa, anyone??
Here are WENDY's photos from Kintyre:
Daisy's Happy Place.
A Gormley Statue looking towards Arran.
Sorry they have all copied wrong way round - even when I tried rotating they still wouldn't come out right! I think it's something to do with photos from IPhone!
Back later with a post! Going out to Church Summer Lunch.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG many thanks for posting for me :-)
Daisy grumpy today as cyst is swollen on ABs until Tuesday when it will be removed. Only bonus for us is she gets a pedicure whilst under the anaesthetic...
Super sunny windy day here so bedding dancing in the breeze..
Love your pictures, Wendy. Looks like a super place to stay.
It's getting breezy here, too!
It was as we were at the end of a cove Lindy...
No road just grass then beach... Landmark Trust ( sort of National Trust) that run and restore places like Lundy have the Manor House Gatehouse 500 year old Castle and 2 other cottages all available to rent. So a very private beach with a picnic Bothy at the other end of the cove.
Watching oldies doubles:-)
Annette and Lindy: I'm okay, but thanks for asking. We've had massive storms for days. Many of the roads are flooded. High winds have brought trees and power lines down everywhere. My power was off for 6 hours on Tuesday. I've never seen a summer like this one. Everyone is tired of it all.
bjane: That was supposed to read a bed lift to help your daughter be more independent! She's already very important. :-)
OG: I've had the same problems with pix no rotating on demand, but haven't connected the dots. Thanks for posting Wendy's pix. That does look like a lovely place to get away from it all. Enjoy your lunch.
Diane: Ugh. I know you can get pretty violent weather there. Is it that it's earlier than usual or more intense, or both? We now have May Gray/June Gloom in July; but it's okay with me. I still have to clean up all the ash from the fire. We still aren't supposed to be hosing down hardscape, but when you try to sweep it up it just billows up and settles back down when you've gone by.
Missed the first women's semifinal; looks like it was a rout. The Konta/Williams match is shaping up to be good. Our commentator is pointing out that Konta tends to overshoot. Gosh, now it's looking like Venus isn't anticipating a lot of the returns and she also seems tired? Yes, I know - we have real commentators. I'll shut up now.
EDIT: Venus is a gracious winner. Lots of experience. Konta can only get better....
WENDY Poor Daisy. Hope things go ok next week.
Watched Johanna Konta match. We were surprised Venus seemed to win quite easily. Hopefully Jamie and Maria will go through to mixed finals. Thinking that Roger will find winning another Wimbledon easy peasy. Still, you never know!!!!
