HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
The Full Moon is at:
5:07 a.m. Sunday morning in the U.K.
12:07 a.m. (just after midnight Saturday night) in the eastern U.S.
9:07 p.m. Saturday night in CaliforniaThe July Full Moon is traditionally called the Full Buck Moon or the Full Thunder Moon.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Having a cuppa at the moment, and enjoying the Murray match which is very entertaining.
Lindybird: I'm focusing on the Murray match, which is very good and turning into something of a nail biter. We have two channels showing Wimbledon and the Muller game is on the other one so I'm flipping back and forth a bit. Have warned OH I shall be incommunicado most of the morning.
AQ: Sorry your day out got postponed. Hope you can reschedule soon. I was reading that jonquils are variety of daffodil/narcissus??, but the latter are springtime flowers from what I know and you guys are now going into winter. What am I missing? (Lots I'm sure!) How about doing none of the unwelcome tasks and lolling about? Not that I could ever do that myself.
Heather: That will always be a special lavender - a bitter/sweet reminder of your dear OH. Hugs to you.
Have been thinking of Margo - wasn't she a big Wimbledon fan?
Yes, Annette, Margo would have been gripped by the last few days. She loved it all.
How sad that an apparent injury seems to have stopped Andy in his quest this time. I did have my doubts before Wimbledon even started, as his hip problem had been mentioned a few times.
Feel sorry for Johanna Konta as all the pressure will be on her, now :-(
Watched the Murray match. It was really obvious he was in discomfort. Hopefully he will take a decent break and look after himself now. We will be cheering on Johanna Konta tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Just back from meeting a friend who is volounteering at LG this week.
Long walk around Loch en Eilan including very muddy extra end to the Loch.
Coffee and cake then Loch Insh to watch the 2 youngsters getting fish deliveries.
Friend introduced me to our Mary and Birdie who were snapping all the action.
Sad to see Docovich (?)retire:-(
Daisy off to vets tomorrow as she has a new cyst on her toe.. we usually get one a year all to do with her shot to pieces auto immune system. This one isn't worrying her but getting larger. Early appt not booked in for surgery but if I do no food after 9 ish they might get sort it tomorrow ... here's hoping.
Well Djokovic retired with injury (not having had a day off due to the Nadal/Muller marathon) and Roger rolls on.... :-)
Lurking today and let it pass me by - Could say I was busy, but that would be an excuse. Will make an effort tomorrow!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Well, tired but happy! The garden looks quite tidy.
LYNETTE - I hope that your brother will get a good landlord. Stupid, I agree, that the current one is holding out for a price he may not get.
Interesting to read about all the great grandchildren, OG and bJANE. I married young and had first child when I was 21 but he didn't marry until he was 36.
Annette - Yes, I get out. I eat dinner with friends twice a week and several other friends once a month. I just cannot go out of town overnight without a great deal of preparation and assurances that there is someone to help my daughter. She cannot move her legs so is unable to get out of bed herself. Unfortunately, she has had aides that do not show up and she has laid in bed waiting without food or drink for hours, so I get skittish when I am not in town. My younger son fills in for me if he or my DiL are available.
Heather = I married at 19 and had my first at 21 too.
Annette – I Googled too, to discover that my bulbs are “paperwhites”, still a member of Narcissus (daffodil, jonquil) family. It is mid-winter here BUT with so little rain, the plants are confused and the early spring bulbs have started flowering extra-early.
I probably will vegetate most of day as I have been watching Tour de France. Time difference means it starts 9 or 10 pm and ends about 1 am. <yawn> My knitting is progressing – the faster they cycle, the faster I knit LOL.
