Another day of not seeing EJ on the nest. With a great sigh of relief though, we did catch a glimpse of her through Mike Crutch's camera lens carrying a whopper (her usual) out of the lochan, beating out 4 males. :-D THAT is our EJ!
In the meantime a pair of interlopers not only used her pad as a rendezvous, but also for a fish exchange! (pic by Moffer)(video summary by scylla) NOT acceptable---go away! If they are indeed playing house, does EJ need to dissuade them from continuing more seriously next season? Where is she during the day? Perhaps she is, as Moffer suggested, leisurely munching away at her brunch while the kids play. And also, where and who is the unringed male who seemed to have grown fond of EJ? Is it the same male who brought a whole live fish to the Blue Ring girl?
Each day arrives with more questions than any that can be answered easily. We shall do with our little peephole. It is still windblown at the moment. Full moon tonight yet no apparent illumination on the nest. :(

G'day everyone. Thank you CC for starting the day, and thank you Scylla, for your early morning obs of beautiful EJ. I'm thinking that the male was the same bird as yesterday, and not PU. He was certainly confused by EJ's reaction, but to his credit he tried again. No sign of CT6. Perhaps she knows the lady of the nest is back, and she should jump before being pushed!
A few of my obs of our feathered friends while I have been lurking (got family over today, so it's hard to get away)
Woodpigeon, a first for me on LG nest
One of many Chaffinches
Juvvie GSW
Greenfinches
No sign of any Osprey action

Morning ALL. What a relief to see that EJ has been around today. I have to confess to being totally bemused by the comings and goings of the intruders, whether male or female, and just wish that Blue FC8 had hung around. None has come up to his good looks, and possibly been well tolerated by EJ. And of course to me he looked much like Odin!
Many thanks CC for you lovely start to the day, particularly with Mike Crutch's photo of EJ. What a carry on y'day with the pair looking as tho they owned the nest. Pah! Not for too long, thank goodness.
I've been sitting here on and off for the past three? hours and spotted Woody and the chaffinches, but not the pigeon. Many thanks Limpy and Moffer for the captures.
Cam is back on nest cam, with nothing but a gentle breeze causing the movement of the long grass. I guess the VC is busy on a Sunday, or EJ is not in view for them to scan and find her.

In the meantime with my coffee, groggily staring at the nest, I see a spotted pig has gotten caught on the side. :)
