HAPPY NEW WEEK! I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Enjoy the new month!

Good afternoon to everyone been rather wet and cold here so not a lot happening. I liked Linda's poem as it typifies me in the morning.
I have been reading that white meat now is eaten more now than red meat but I still enjoy a steak with onions and some chips.
Went down to the harbour yesterday to see if there was anything going on and there was five tankers sitting waiting to go further up with gas that has been fracked in America and is going to Grangemouth to be processed.
My thoughts will be with Harelady this week as she goes through this traumatic time. OG glad to see that you are making headway and look forward to seeing you when you are able to get up to Fife again. Hope everyone else is keeping well and enjoying whatever summer we get.

Nice to hear from you, George. Don't be put off from enjoying your steak, by the food police!! I'm sure you don't eat one every day, LOL!
We do eat more white meat now, and often have a day or two of meatless meals in a week, plus always at least one day with a fishy dinner, which I love. Otherwise, apart from not eating too much bacon, we just have whatever we fancy.
There have been worries about fracking in our county, and protests. Don't know where it will all end: I'm not in favour as there is no way that anyone can predict what the consequences might be, later. In nearby Lancashire, they had minor earthquakes because of land shift!!
Glad you enjoyed the poetry. I'll write you one about mornings when I have a minute!!
Been in the garden, pottering and sitting in the chair alternately. Here is another pic:
One of the wild poppies which set themselves in the border.
The clematis which has grown up through the plum tree: I took lots of pics of this but have forgotten which ones I have already posted, so apologies if you've seen it already...
A close up. The flowers are the size of a small dinner plate!
MORNINGS
I'm always slow in the mornings -
My brain takes a while to wake.
The gunk in my eyes and the fog in my mind
Are slow to be on the uptake.
Before I can face an uncertain world,
With my chest out and head held high,
I need to come to, I need to say "phew!" and then,
To let out a sigh.......
Before I can speak, I need a good mug of tea,
Before I can move, a porridge or three!
I'm grumpy, I'm clumpy,
Beyond that, I'm always, very galumpy,
So best not to talk to me, best not to say
Best not to ask me nowt, till later that day!
Harelady – You are in my thoughts & prayers.

Freezy windy day, esp in city where the grid of streets funnel the wind. I took myself to State Library for a mostly unsuccessful research session. More luck with mundane purchases – vitamins C & D & face cleansing gunk.
The Pancake Kitchen has been in our city forever. I always thought it strange that they served savoury pancakes, as, to me, pancakes are a dessert. I used to make fritters for the girls, grating apple into mix to make healthy. Too bad OH doesn’t like them. Maybe I should make a small mixture just for me.
Linda - I don’t care how many times you post clematis. I’m so jealous!
Site has been odd lately, pictures may or may not appear. If not, they are replaced by a black cross that may or may not display pic.
Good Morning. Rather cloudy here, but dry.
My OH has just been two streets away, collecting Bonnie from a lady who rang up saying that she had found her in the garden. When they took their walk this morning, Bonnie caught a rabbit hiding in a field of corn and ran away with it: she is always afraid that it will be taken away from her, so she goes in the other direction! Sadly, she has caught at least one or two rabbits every week for the last month. Because she has such a good nose, she can find them hiding even when they can't be seen.
AQ -- I would always think "sweet" when it comes to pancakes, too. I can't open your links, and agree that the Site has been doing strange things with pics.
I must do exciting things like cleaning floors today! Have a good day, everyone.
Thinking of Harelady and her difficult week ahead.
Here's today's pic:
Another of my clematis! - this one grows up the house.
Linda – that could have been written for me today! Having woken early, I went back to sleep, then took a very long time to get up for breakfast. Pleased Bonnie was found after her adventure, but so dangerous on the road.
George – good to see a post from you – recent weather has been disappointing after such a promising start, but I have to admit rain was needed – just wish it knew when to stop! Today looks promising, so I hope it is sunny for you too. Did you see the new aircraft carrier go down the estuary last week? It must have been quite a sight. We are now unlikely to get up to Fife – or anywhere else – this year, but maybe in spring for a short first trip next year.
AQ – sorry the research didn’t go so well. We used to enjoy pancakes at The Dutch Pancake House in Manchester - does anyone else remember it? They served huge pancakes on massive plates – savoury and sweet, but the savoury ones were best – no limit to what you could have on them!
OH is off on the monthly shop at M&S Food and Asda, J has gone to the gym (starting the hols as he intends to go on). Deck man isn’t here yet – maybe off fetching the actual decking boards – a nuisance as I wanted OH to tell him we don’t like something he has done at one end, and I may now have to go out there to say it myself if he does arrive. Brother-in-law is moving house tomorrow – from Cambridge to Bristol, not bad for a 75 year old. He was supposed to go by Easter, so I guess 4th July isn’t bad – he is going to live near two of his “children” now he is on his own.
Thinking of Harelady and family with love and prayers.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hello all.
Diane, thanks for starting us off with the pic. of a dessert tortoise.
Lindy - love your ditty's re turtle and George?
George - lovely to hear from you.
HeatherB - glad the birthday girl enjoyed herself. Pity about the gulls. Don't really have that problem here and in any case get shopping delivered so not a chance of them getting anything even if they were around.
OG - its always nice to have some "me~" time.
Will be thinking about Harelady, especially Wed.
Off to the gym tomorrow for a long awaited swim. Feel I can cope with walking although toe is still a little tender.

OH and Deck Man arrived at same time, so I didn't have to deal with the query! J has spent 7 months trying to get his appointment at ophthalmology; last week it was arranged for tomorrow; today it has been cancelled as there isn't an ophthalmologist available. This is just the final assessment and measuring - the actual surgery on the muscles will follow!
