It is hard to believe but it is already 1st July. The osprey season is racing away. This is the last full month ospreys. The females will be thinking of holidays already.
2017 has brought a lot of bad news but I shall ignore that and concentrate on the good news.EJ has been single for over a month now. She has had the odd dalliance but no firm new relationship as such.
The best news of the month in my view was Roy Dennis' announcement of the osprey translocation to Poole Harbour.
See Poole Harbour Osprey Project
There was good news from Loch of The Lowes, Threave, Kielder, Glaslyn, Dyfi and Rutland who all have successful nests.
Monty and Glesni became grandparents and Clarach a star in her own right..
The other good news was the return of more two year olds. None more celebrated than W0 from Glaslyn the chick that almost never was.
However the achievement of the month must go to the male at Belwood Lake struggling to bring up two chicks by himself. Memories of Ollie at Loch Garten in 1993.

Thanks, Tiger, for the new thread. Agreed about Roy Dennis's Poole Harbour Osprey Project--great news. Can't wait for there to be nesting Ospreys there. We've been to RSPB Arne, but that was over a couple of Christmas holidays and once in September. Fingers crossed that in a few years we will have to go down there in the summer as well.
Kind regards, Ann
