Happy New Week all. Check back for the last of last week's posts.
Huskies should not have their fur trimmed in the summer. They have an undercoat that keeps them cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
If it's too hot then they should be brought in where there is air conditioning.
bjane: Thanks for the reminder about undercoats - I'd heard something about that, but forgot. But I wonder how their undercoat a/c system works when they're out of the environment they were born to, so to speak.
OG: Also had a smile at the thought of you and the attorney huddled in the car with crutches, etc. Wonder why it takes so long to register the POA - what's the purpose of that? When we do ours, we have to sign them in front of a notary public who confirms we are who we say we are, then it's up to us to let the appropriate financial institutions/family members, etc. know about it and send them copies of the document.
Harelady: Thinking of you and wishing I could make things easier...
Have a good Thursday everyone.
Quite bright here this morning, I was emptying the dishwasher at 6am. Very unusual for me to do anything until the first shot of caffeine has entered my bloodstream.
LYNETTE - good to read that you are managing to get about OK. That was a nasty fall.
ANNETTE- I'll leave it to OG to explain the POA procedure here in Scotland. I do seem to remember that the paperwork had to go to Edinburgh. I didn't need to activate it for myself during OH' s last illness as we held joint bank accounts. If he had been incapable, legally, for longer, then I might have needed it for other matters. As I said before, OH's son and my eldest daughter are jointly next in line if needed.
Good Morning, All. Fairly bright here, but still lots of puffy clouds. We had a warm night.
An early start helps make the day go well.....or at least, a bit better, Heather!
Here is today's pic:
"Alright, I'm just a Mum like any other, even if you think I'm ugly"
I think everyone around here is having an early start, LINDY! There was a council lorry with flashing lights beep beeping continually at 7.15 am, some sort of power saw just after 8am and a pigeon constantly coo cooing.
Sounds like a noisy area you live in, Heather! ;-)
Not in the countryside :-( On a bus route, a busy road. OK for pensioners who don't drive, though!!
Just heard that youngest son in law's job is again under threat. They have, at least, had nine months of a regular salary, since the last round of cuts.
I'm not sure whether it is a good thing or a bad thing that I can walk to any of three supermarkets (two German, one T***O)in five minutes. Plus a minimart/post office in two minutes or town centre in ten minutes. I've lived in both town and country in my time.
Sorry to hear that your son in law is once again living under a cloud, Heather. Sadly, it's not uncommon these days.
We live within 12/15 mins walk of a supermarket, or 20 mins by car to a Sainsburys, Tesco or Asda in a nearby town. We also have a very mini, mini Waitrose here. I've lived in both City and country, and here we reap the benefits of both, as it's not far to some large shopping centres and to central Manchester - although we only go there for the theatres! Increasingly I shop online, but never for food, as I like to see what I buy!!
