WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, JUNE 11, 2017

Happy New Week all.  Check back for the last of last week's posts.

  • What's so shocking is that the fire precautions don't seem to have been adequate. Someone should be held to account.

  • I'm just back from shopping, LINDY, will have a look at the news.

  • Managed a brief outing in the car for solicitor appointment, but couldn't get up the steps there - he came out on one crutch following a knee replacement and we had the meeting in our car!  Didn't take long as it's all going to be straight forward - apart from time the registration of CPoA takes - although mine may be accelerated due to the fact that I was legally "incapable" for a few days last February!

Pleased HARELADY has other family members for some support - still praying.

    Thanks all for news.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Got to laugh at your "one good leg each" meeting, I'm afraid, OG!   At least he was sensible and didn't cancel, just went ahead.

Warm here but now clouded over - don't think it's going to be as hot as predicted.

  • LINDA - he did say that if we had phoned he would have got one of the clerks to drive him up to our house, but we thought from memory that the steps were less steep than they are!

Just been sitting in the garden, but sun was too hot to stay long!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • So so awful.  Heartbreaking news from London.

And of course, still remembering HARELADY  and her family.

  • Very sad, Heather. But in the same way, as after the awful London Bridge event, so very many people have emerged as heroic, or have helped others in all kinds of ways. It does give you a warm feeling that there are still many good people out there.

Hope that Harelady managed her long journey back to London OK.

  • Agree, LINDY.

My brother just phoned, it has been extremely hot there today, he said 31°c. He is worried about his dog, a husky. He inherited it from his son. Apparently they don't like the heat (well, that makes sense). Dog is panting and vomiting. I'm not a dog person but feel quite worried. I've asked if there is a big bowl of water handy.Apart from that I'm quite useless. I've suggested a fan, dog always lies on cool kitchen tiles.

  • Afternoon all: Busy morning doing stuff in preparation for granddaughter and Ms. D. Have to be out all tomorrow morning so no time then.

Heather: Has the husky had its coat thinned at all? Perhaps bro can call a vet for some tips? Doesn't sound good.....hope it can cool down tonight.

    Another two errands now...

  • Yes the news about the fire was awful.  I came down last night as I couldn't sleep and put the tele on only to see Breaking News - fire in tower block in London. It was an inferno.  They reckon that about 12 people have been killed and could be many more with over 50 taken to hospital. The community seems to be rallying around those that have lost there homes and everything in them - so heartwarming to see. Makes you wonder what the 3rd thing will be to hit London, but God forbid, it doesn't.

Weather been glorious here but too hot to sit out so sat in the lounge where it is cool for most of the day.  Managed to get out to our local supermarket and library with OH carrying the shopping for me.  Tiring but did it.   Was at church the first week I had had the fall but missed it last week due to Dau revising for her English exam - now finished thankfully. Getting around pretty well, tried without boot on but not such a good idea so on it went again.

Annette - hope the visit of your G.Dau and Ms.D goes well.
