NEW CHAT THREADThis is the new thread for the week. I am watching the news of the terror attacks in London. I don't think it's appropriate to post my usual wishes for a happy new week along with a cheerful photo. I will simply say that my thoughts are with all of my dear friends in the U.K. I hope you all stay safe.
I can't believe this is happening. My thoughts & prayers are with my dear friends also.
Thank you, Diane and AQ. We Brits are all determined that we will all carry on as usual, whatever befalls, however. This reaction is universal amongst those we speak to, a fierce defiance of those who would try to wreck our way of life. We will of course all have to be more vigilant and some are saying that they will avoid city centres unless necessary.
Thinking of those who were involved in this latest atrocity.
Couldn't put it better, LINDY. Totally agree with you.
Hope you feel better this morning, Heather. It's a sad day, once again, but we must carry on with our daily lives.
Thanks LINDY. I do feel better. In the scheme of things my problems are very insignificant. That was my first thought when I heard the News.
WENDY - that's horrible for you - and after so long, too.
DIANE and AQ - thanks for your kind thoughts. Sadly all this is part of life in the UK (and elsewhere) right now.
HEATHER - good to read your post above: stay positive.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Tried to post this morning, and just got the infernal whirligig... :-(
I said, here's my pic for today, to remind us of our beautiful world:
How lucky we are, to live on this astounding planet!
Just enjoying my cup of tea, having been out for a carvery lunch in a pub - I had ham, with lots of veg. No room for Pud!
Heard from our son this morning that young Tomasz has passed his certificate for the 10 metre front crawl in the swimming pool. He's very proud, as it took him some courage a while back to discard the armbands.
My daughter sent me this message ....
"We live on such a beautiful planet...
But in such an ugly world".
LINDY Very well done to Tomasz.
WENDY Sad but true.
