Thursday 18 May 2017 dawned a beautiful day at Loch Garten. Odin delivered a large fish to the nest. Everything seemed idyllic. Little we knew that within hours it would all turn to horror.
At 1.18pm Odin left the nest and has not been seen again. EJ valiantly stuck to brooding the chicks but inevitably was only a matter of time.
So Loch Garten's season is over already this year.
There is other news but nothing quite like this.
Do you want to record your thoughts on what happens now? Will EJ accept a new partner?

We wait. And if anyone else is like me, we wait in a very depressed state, still not fully accepting of the loss of Odin, and of the chicks.

I think she would, after a suitable interval, but she doesn't seem to have had a serious suitor yet.
I don't know how ospreys pair up when it's not mating season.
IMAGICAT
They pair up in a more relaxed way.
Morning everyone, does anyone know what happened to B24, did she find a mate?

B24 is around but has not found a mate as far as I am aware.
When we were at Dyfi 10 days ago Blue 24 was seen around. Frequently perched on some poles on the reserve and provided she didn't get too close to the nest she was tolerated by Glesni and Monty. She seemed to be regarded as 'part of the furniture'! Certainly no sign of her nesting or pairing.
Birdies LG DU update.
Any further news of Dai Dot ??

There was a sighting that might have been Dai Dot a while ago.
There is a Blog here Cirrus and we were there when the activity took place. You will see that there is no definitive ID but certainly strong indications that it could have been. I can tell you that Ems, Janine and the team poured over the video of those events trying to confirm BUT just not quite enough to be 100%.
Yes, thank you Mike and Tiger. I did read that. I was just hoping that further news was known. I personally do believe it was Two Dots. Monty would never have entertained an ''intruder'' Osprey so close to him. So, I doing my best to keep hope going for a certain young 'man' who is close to my heart.
