There are several nests with healthy active bobbleheads which we will be watching with interest this summer. We expect a fine show of fledglings during late June & July, with many strong beautiful juvenile osprey migrating to their winter homes in Africa come August and September.
I do hope you will still find this a place to share any news of the osprey world that is of interest to you as well as other matters of interest. If anything pops up on Facebook I'll post it here.
EJ's visitor finally has moved. Now I can see a blue ring. I have been away so don't know what if any action (other than a shifting of position) may have occurred.
w A new day begins at Loch Garten. Wonder what or who today will bring?
It is a great video, June, and welcome good news for some of the UK's Ospreys!
Kind regards, Ann
This picture is sharp & clear even in falling rain. So sharp, in fact, that I can actually see the rain coming down.
Good evening all. That osprey looks so miserable in the rain :(
Lovely to see EJ on her nest doing a bit of house keeping shes so beautiful:) I only hope shell pair and bond with another male although I still hope Odin might return. Looking very unlikely though
The dead chicks are still in the nest as I captured this picture just moments ago. I chose to crop the lower part of the nest.
The river is going down. Much can change, or it won't. We just don't know & can't predict what will happen on or off nest. Stay w/us to see!
Many of you are concerned that Louis hasn't returned to nest except to defend. We have no answers for this. We watch & learn. Time will tell
