It goes to show how vulnerable a nest can be without an established pair's vigilance. Yet another Blue Ring intruder appeared --- Blue HS8 --- who is a three year old female from the Isle of Bute. Though EJ defended the nest, we saw no talons yesterday. But we also did not see the unringed male either. Was he just passing through? Should we be disappointed, or relieved? Just as a reminder, this may be a good time to revisit the Odin thread. Sad nest. :'-(© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild

They told me there was already a forum post like that, and then posted it twice. I suppose it was the least the Sunday-morning system could do, considering I hit reply about 20 times before getting any response.

Good morning, all. Limpy and I would like to wish the excellent Moffer a very happy birthday!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi Clare. Where have you been??
