Tonight brings an empty nest except for the part fish that EJ brought to the nest while she tried to shout someone away. Unfortunately, a Blue Ring intruder dive bombed her off the nest and left shortly after that. EJ never returned for her fish. :( Blue CT6 was spotted earlier in the day on the camera tree, so perhaps that was the intruder. We still are holding out for Odin.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild

Hi all
This is my first post, and since visiting LG a week past Tues, only to see Odin bring in a fish for EJ when i was there, I've been obsessively watching webcam and reading updates from you all (thankyou)I have cried and lived in hope that all was going to be okay I hope now that Odin might come back and EJ is fine and comes back unscaved for next year and hopefully with Odin Thx all
Hi Alison. Welcome to the forum :o) How wonderful for you to see EJ and Odin in the feather as it were. I have not given up hope for Odin to return. This year has been painful for us to watch, but all is not lost. EJ is holding her own against a formidable female Blue ringed intruder, and may have found a male friend to help her defend the nest.
Thx Moffer. I have been watching so so much It certainly has been painful and i fully understand the non intervention I also hope that Odin still returns but have also seen the unringed male that has been sitting by EJ and returning to the nest on his own
Welcome Alison
This male has thin legs
thank you Cathy
Odin has got long thin legs too, right up to his wingpits :o) If he were to return this year, EJ would drop the new guy, quick smart.
thx as a newbie(but an avid bird amateur) it's good to get this info on ID
