  • Good to see that the fight to stop the shooting of B.of P. is still continuing.  They seem to "get away with it" far too often.

Very hot here - more than 85 degrees in our conservatory!

  • Hope you like your new deck, when it's done. Your fence Man sounds as if he's done a good job, so you can feel confident about it. :-)

  • Thank you all for your concern I am still in the land of the living but not doing a lot as I have been suffering with a sore back and can not think what caused it I should really go to my GP but I keep putting it off.  Today it was feeling a bit better so I managed to get my grass cut which was badly needing done as it had lain for four weeks,

Tonight I am going to the Waterfront where the chef is giving a demonstration of the five course dinner that you will be having and usually there is something unusual on the menu.

I hope everyone is keeping well and it seems that you are making progress OG. I also see that Heather is going to Edinburgh this W/E and hope she remembers that the pavements in Edinburgh are harder than in your home town wherever you come from.

I haven't mentioned the going ons at the moment as I think everyone has their own feelings about them.

Hope the weather keeps good for those on the bank holiday

  • Great to hear from you, George!!  Glad you're OK, although a sore back can be very debilitating:  don't put off going to the Docs if its affecting your daily life. Your outing tonight sounds really good:  come on and tell us about it over the weekend, I'd love to hear what you ate!!

The News is certainly hard to switch on, on the TV at present.  One good thing to hear is that everyone is pulling together, and also how many good deeds were shown on that terrible day.

Take care, George, and enjoy looking out at your freshly cut grass, although I expect the rain forecast at the end of this hot spell will only make it grow again!

  • Good to see a post from GEORGE - I still intend to send an email!  I hope mowing hasn't made your back worse.  And do take care in the heat!

So hot and sticky here, but barometer is falling; almost hoping for a thunder storm if it would improve the atmosphere!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Evening all:  Another busy day!  We have a three-day weekend too; we're observing Memorial Day on Monday.  I see Heather is off gadding about again.  :-)

Lindybird:  I find that weeds are sneaky and hide in established plants where they get very well established before you discover them.

George: Good to see you; do hope your back eases up soon.

Diane: I see you've got a band of tornadoes heading your way over the next couple of days. Take care!

    Have a good Saturday everyone.

  • We actually had a heavy shower of rain mid-pm. Recent promised showers have been elsewhere.

  • Good Morning, All.  A bit grey and cloudy here, with rain promised soon. A hot night last night but cooler temps expected now.

Annette - You're quite right, some of the weeds are cheekily hiding amongst the foliage of my plants. You don't notice them until they're quite big, then they're harder to shift.

My OH has been snuffling, and showing what to me are hay fever symptoms, which he's never had in his life. Must be because of the hot dry conditions.

Off out food shopping, soon, and may get caught out by the heavy showers!

  • Keep safe, Diane.

Nearly forgot to put on a pic:

I'm okay, Annette. The town where I get my groceries was hit pretty hard. They had hail the size of tennis balls -- officially. There was at least one small tornado. First responders closed many roads last night. Trees are down throughout the region and power is out in places. But I'm fine here. Thanks!
