Welcome to EJ and Odin's first chick of the season, reports yesterday's Strathspey&Badenoch Herald! This was certainly the buzz of the day after our days and nights of anxious waiting. Unfortunately, the cam lost its focus last night, and is now completely down. No, I just checked it again and see a fuzzy EJ wobble as well as hear the tiny chucks of a little one!© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx WildYesterday's capture during a first feed, from BNN.

I am sorry for being out of synch massively, but today was a bad day for camwatching for me, meh. And i have now arrived at this mornings first pictures and videoas of the two bobs!
:D I am so happy!
(Seeing Moffers post up here, i will hold my breath a bit and backread the rest of the day before starting to dance...o.-)
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
I fear that the cam is sliding out of focus. Cuckoo calling. EJ is still waiting.

I have to go now. Night.

Oh no, I have returned to see the screen is fuzzed out again. Maybe it does not have anything to do with the focus but with the ability to adjust with lessening light?© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
I have also noticed that the resolution of the stream has been returned to 1280x738 as of May 16th. Does this coincide with the low light fuzziness? (Though I have no theories on why it would be so.) Edit: I looked back and no, captures from night cam are crystal clear for May 16th, but last night May 17th they turned fuzzy. Night cam 22.20.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
EJ takes a break, when she returns I hear healthy loud protests from the osplets! :)© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
The new capture card is 1280x720 (720p). The camera is 1920x1080 but neither the satellite bandwidth of many viewers bandwidth will not handle that.
I have emailed Jess to ask the staff to make sure that the camera is focused properly at the end of each day. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do remotely.
As it gets darker, the aperture of the camera lens opens and correct focusing becomes critical.
Thank you Peter!
It helps to understand what is happening. It is lovely to have the higher resolution, and we are all enjoying it! Hopefully viewers can continue to take advantage for the 1280 resolution without a hit to performance.
For the fuzziness, I think then perhaps it will take a while for the staff at LG to get used to focusing at low light (end of the day) times. On May 16th it was clear at the end of the day, just not the day after. One problem is that at the time the LG center closes, it hasn't gotten as dark as it will become!
Good evening. CC i aree the quality of the pictures are so much better and very sharp images :) I have very limited broadband where I live so very much appreciate all the updates and photos posted on here!
Great news a second chick for EJ and Odin !
