Welcome to EJ and Odin's first chick of the season, reports yesterday's Strathspey&Badenoch Herald! This was certainly the buzz of the day after our days and nights of anxious waiting. Unfortunately, the cam lost its focus last night, and is now completely down. No, I just checked it again and see a fuzzy EJ wobble as well as hear the tiny chucks of a little one!© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx WildYesterday's capture during a first feed, from BNN.

She's done it again! EJ's second egg has hatched and we now have TWO CHICKS! Sometime this morning before 6.30am. Here they are getting a feed. Just gorgeous!
Two hungry mouths to feed so far. Odin is going to be busy
How wonderful! The first two osplets so close together --- bodes well for their survivals! Brilliant job, EJ! Thanks for the sharp eyes, scylla, and for everyone's lovely captures! It's thrilling every year!
Regarding the names, I think whatever names would fine until the official names are announced by LG. Feminine names may end up being given to male osprey chicks, but I think that is even fine! :)
EJ calls, Odin arrives and poses while she calls. Osplets provide a wee chorus as EJ backs out of the nest cup. Odin flies off. Short view of osplets.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
