Perhaps Odin knows about the imminent hatching since he has delivered 2 fish yesterday. Lassie LotL had her first hatch and Maya at Manton Bay welcomed her 2nd. We had some lovely shots of Odin and EJ in flight both from the fish perch and at the nest. Lmac visited Loch Garten and has promised to post pics today! EJ is now tucked in and the feather that shot out yesterday is more deeply embedded in the nest edge.© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild

Back to the nest, and Odin is still incubating. Nice and sunny now, although still sounding very windy. He checks the eggs, and settles again. No sign of EJ, who presumably is back on a perch, having seen the crow(s) off.

Snoozing
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Odin is calling to EJ.
After digging in the nest cup and shuffling around (anti clockwise) Odin snoozes again
He's feeling warm in the sunshine
I can't believe how wonderful the weather has been, apart from the couple of days of snow. They have been so lucky. I hope it continues once the chicks hatch.
EJ's been gone for three and a half hours! She's making the most of her last few days, before the eggs start hatching.
Odin sits, only complaining now and then, but mostly napping.
I wonder whether 'old age' is causing her any problems with continual incubation. I know what it's like to get up from a low chair after a spell of sitting LOL! Not to say, getting up from three hours sitting here!
Odin's having a little trouble getting up in the wind
Lets turn to face it, ahh that's better
EJ's back
You don't often see Odin flapping his wings!
EJ has arrived at his bidding, he has left. She looks at the eggs, checks his flight and steps gently into the cup, removing some of the hedgehog before she settles.
