As CLARACH 2R(13) from the DYFI Osprey Project has settled on the FCS Aberfoyle's main nest for the last week or so, it is probably best that there be a dedicated thread for Aberfoyle.
ABERFOYLE WEBCAM LINK - It operates between the hours of 09.30 am to 5.30 pm.
THE LODGE AT FOREST VISITOR CENTRE - Facebook Page where you will find current information and also historic info on the project.
Some history of Clarach's return to Wales - CLICK ON THE PHOTO TO TAKE YOU TO the excellent blog about her return.
Lets hope Clarach settles here, lays eggs and generally has a successful season.

@ 12:52 Clarach turns her egg and then settles downs
I keep checking on the nest as I work in the garden today. As yet I have not seen any mating nor any nesting material brought in!!! I think this is a bit strange?????
Clarach just now incubating in the sunshine
Male arrives with a fish which Clarach takes
Male then settles down to incubate
Clarach has returned with her fish and eating on the nest just now.
The male has risen but Clarach continues to eat.
Edit: 15:06 Clarach has finished eating and standing by the male.
Nice capture of the two of them
The male has now flown and Clarach returns to her egg
15.39 Clarach rose, and the male landed

I realise it is very early days but I feel the male doesn't appear to be showing much interest in:
1. Building the nest - I haven't once seen him bring in any moss or a stick!
2. Mating - I've not seen any today
3. The egg as he has never voluntarily wanted to incubate! He has only incubated when bringing a fish and at that he gets up the moment she returns.
Give him his due he is defending. On a couple of occasions, when there has been anything is about, he is straight on the nest.
I hope he shows a bit more interest soon.
Clarach still incubating, panting in the sun, but there is a stiff breeze blowing every now and then, and the temperature when we were out was only 15-16 deg.

I hope so too Karen.
At first Jane I thought I had just been watching Blue 33 too much - well there aren't many like him LOL but no, I'm just not seeing a "partnership" here yet. Hopefully I will soon :-))
