Quote of Keith: "JUNE - The early 34 days Chloe quotes is for Egg #3. No first egg in the last 10 years has hatched that early at LG. Average 36 days but there was a 35 day hatching in 2011. I would say hang on till the weekend. Awaiting LOTL and Rutland to hatch first."
Never hurts to start watch early, Keith. We have been caught off guard by a few earlier than expected events through the years, I believe.
Willow is reporting that an egg has hatched at Manton Bay. Is this the first UK bobblehead for 2017?
Manton Bay
Up early - Moved to Central Wales yesterday evening after work to some osprey watching over the weekend.
JUNE - As for the cam watched nests yes this is the first chick of the season as it also was the first egg. Hatched 37 days and 20 hours. If you read my post 11 May (7.49) reference 58 Willow moment of the 2017 season you may recall she has been awaiting sightings of S1 S2 or S3. 58 Willow went to Manton Bay in 2015 to see these as fledged chicks and has been awaiting that one or all will return one day and be sighted. She reported her visit on this thread in 2015.
58 WILLOW - I thought you would be pleased.
Good afternoon all. Another good day another hatching for Rutland 2 bobbleheads for Maya and B33! Just quickly looked in at LG, no hatching yet but wont be long now. I think one at Loch of Lowes might be very imminent for Lassie and Laddie.
Keith hope you have a great time also hope you may spot Dai Dots, but I think its unlikel :( He would have been seen before now
Hatch at LoL
Birdies LG DU update.
Thanks Mike :) Proud parents Lassie and Laddie!
Always amazes me to see those very feeble flipper arms that they will grow into magnificent, huge wings that will fly them thousands of miles in a relatively short time ! Little miracles really
EJ seems calm enough nd apparently is able to incubate her eggs after the wind blew sticks at her.
Hello June I saw EJ sitting under all those sticks! Was worried the eggs may have got damaged but she been carefully covering them :)
