Thanks for concern over Benson. He spent the night at our vets after being anaesthetised while they tried to find out the problem. It turns out he had a 6 ins brittle blade of grass in his airway which they removed. We collected him mid morning with instructions to keep him quiet over the next few days. He is certainly quieter than usual. OH has promised him lap cuddles this evening. They will both enjoy that.

You'll all be pleased to know that the 'case' against Chris Packham has been thrown out. It seems the whole episode of the events leading to his arrest were faithfully recorded on camera!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks Clare - just been to read about it on the BBC News website. Great news: he's lucky that someone was filming at the time. I was in Malta two years ago and it was said there by resident Brits that it was an extremely difficult situation. There has always been a culture of shooting the wildlife and that includes birds, irrespective of whether they're migrating.
Its time there was more of an international outcry to make them stop their outdated traditions.
I bought a cheap mobile for 15 pounds. Spent ages finding out how to get it going, but seem to be winning with it now, and it's charging up.
So cross with myself for forgetting my usual mobile, which I left on a high shelf as someone we know with four legs and a tail is partial to chewing mobiles!
Good Morning. Another sad day for the French, who have had a bad time of it in the last couple of years.
A bit grey in the sky again, here, but it's lovely to look out of the window and see all the colour of the blossoms in the garden.
Sis-in-law called around to collect some jigsaws for her grandchildren, and had another big fuss from Bonnie, who then sulked in the hall for ages after she'd left!

Miserable morning here. Still it makes no difference for dog walking as Benson isn't allowed at the mo anyway.
