The nest now with EJ asleep and the nest quiet. Will tomorrow bring another egg?© RSPB - Loch Garten and Carnyx Wild
Yesterday began with an intruder trying to mate with EJ [video by scylla] and a handsome suitor bringing a large fish for EJ but she told him off and he left. Then Odin hauled a half fish around while defending the nest so it wasn't until later that EJ managed to get a bite. However, the day progressed to a more routine domestic scene complete with mating, and head-trodding and stick deliveries on top of EJ. Odin seemed in a frenzy of building up the nest to the point of burying poor EJ. A guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.... ;-*

Odin's here with a stick, looked like a clumsy landing again. Also, I heard a short corvid caw.

Alert:
The egg was exposed for a considerable length of time whilst EJ ate her fish. She just got settled when Odin arrived back still clutching his fish piece due to an alert of some sort. Back on the egg again.
Sorry, should have said that Odin took the remaining fish from EJ.
The problem is with Crows who are being a real pest.
Birdies LG DU update.
Another stick brought in, I think he missed EJ this time :)
Thank you for filling in the gaps, GrannySmith :) I'm having a mental wander ;)

He didn't bring in a stick (or anything) but shifted a couple, hung around, sailed off.
Posed lots :)

Good morning all.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Good morning Moffer. There is an issue with Crows pestering them this morning and there have been lots of fly offs and general awareness this morning. Basically a bit unsettled.
