As there has been a sighting of an Osprey at Bassenthwaite, I thought it would be a good time to start this years thread.

He should be out of the desert by now.

Good news of No.14! I went to Whinlatter today, and was told they just found that he is now travelling fast through Spain! The Ospreywatch web site will probably be updated this evening.
The re-arranged osprey screen watching area is rather smaller than before, but adequate, and the cafe has been extended.
The live nest screen is a larger one, and there is a new movable camera as well as the one to the side. It also can show a squirrel feeder, and there was luckily a red squirrel eating nuts in there when I was there. I saw the female and the male too on the nest then they mantled and flew off.
Thanks Chrisy ... fantastic news.
Great to know he is safe and making good progress.
Sure is! He does seem to make things hard for himself. Still, Bioko has been a good wintering place for him.
That's brilliant news Christy - thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the news of 14 ChrisyB.
ChrisyB--Thanks ever so much. It is such a relief to know White 14 is safely in Spain. Can't wait to see him back in the Lake District.
Kind regards, Ann
