The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
He/She is there again, same position as before....

It just caught my eye. Delay posting due to trying to match (or not clash) with frame.

Waking up with a spring in the step. Off s/he flew but not snappably.
Is anyone having problems playing the cams on their tablets?
The cams will not play on mine, I am seeing both of them but they remain black with the play button in the centre.
And another question about the cams ... I find since these adventure adverts were added (last year) that my laptop is struggling a bit and it is as if they are affecting the performance, in fact my laptop often just crashes. Any one else find any problems.
Don't get me wrong .. I am not complaining, I have always been grateful that we get to watch to nests and I understand sponsors which may mean adverts are required.
Suppose I am just thinking it may be time to get a new laptop!
Karen I tend to not use a tablet to look at the webcams if I am at home, but when away do use it. Using Safari with decent wifi (which depends on where I am) I have not had any problems viewing the Rutland cam on the Ipad, and only advert I see is on the right hand side for an Australian Adventure, all other items down the right hand side are Rutland based items.
At home I have no problems on PC or Laptop viewing the Rutland Cams. To be honest didn't even notice the adventure advert until you mentioned it. :-)
Wow - colourful! And I haven't touched 'em up!

Karen, there was quite a discussion in the "What's going on with the Loch Garten cam" (or words to that effect) thread. Otherwise, if you post in the Tech Test thread it should attract helpers :)
Mary - thanks for update on your cams. I am using Chrome on the tablet and had no issues last year so I will have a look at the settings later.
I too always have the one advert at the side when accessing from my laptop, again I am using Chrome. I often see one at the top when on the laptop and I am pretty sure when on my tablet. Maybe that one is a Chrome thing if you can't see it??
Anyways thanks - I will look at the performance at my end - must get sorted out LOL
Scylla - lovely capture - great colours and thanks for your reply. I will have a look at all my settings and if I can't get it up and running will post on the techie thread. Thanks
