The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
15.50 they have flown! I was checking Glaslyn, so missed their departure!

Thanks Sandra.
Lets just hope they don't dominate at Lagoon 4 again this season.

Good Morning Patily
They are both still there watching the sunrise awww!
Well I think you are there Patily but cannot see your post (usual Sunday morning)!!!!
Morning Scylla, Mary, Patily and all still to look in.
Thanks for the updates and pics and of course the beautiful sunrise Mary.
As I switched the cam on, one was on the nest and the other was arriving with a clump of straw!
I think I have seen more straw than sticks brought in this year!
More straw ... this must be one of the cosiest nests
