The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.

Me neither! I have seen very little sticks brought in by 33 but there again we know he has been having a field day with the hay :-D
ENS just now and I must log off. I have builders in today so wont be around today:(
Happy viewing SYL
Karen agree they need sponsors, would be nice though if the advert just animated at the side and not over the webcam viewing part, oh well it doesn't happen every time so I suppose that is a bonus lol....
Been so enjoying the blogs with the videos of 33, that one yesterday when he plopped the stick down on top of Maya is hilarious, when I see these videos I think of Maya saying in a Scottish accent "Whit ir ye dayin man" ROTFL......

33 has now flown and I am hitting the shut down button LOL SYL
Both on the nest, and a failed attempt at mating, this snip is from when 33 slid off Maya :-)
Maya on her own now

They landed more-or-less the same time ;-)
I seem to have a lot of freezes in the MB stream.
IMAGICAT
Is Maya getting into position for egg laying, or is it just wishful thinking and an optical illusion :-)
Maya has flown - no sunrise....
One on the nest, dawn breaking. Stand by for sunrise Mary!
Birdies LG DU update.
I think its Maya doing a bit of nestorising Mike.... Thought it was going to be too cloudy for a sunrise :-)
