The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Morning all ... thanks for all the updates and captures.
It is still looking miserable here. Hopefully it clears up later, I am not sure what the forecast is.

Good morning Karen. Miserable weather. Good for a book title: Lonely osprey in the fog.
Tiger's Osprey News
Hi Noc, yes good title :-) It is a bit clearer but still looks miserable.
33 and Maya on the nest just now
33 has just flown. Hopefully the next time I look in the sun will be shinning.
What a difference ... the sun is shinning!
Maya on the nest and 33 approaches with a stick
Spends a couple of minutes on the nest and is off again
I may be mistaken but I think I just saw an EG fly by the nest!
33 is currently on the nest and looking but if that was an EG, well we can guess where Maya is :-D
Maya was onthe nest tackling the bundle of nesting material but has now flownup to the campost
Maya, on the nest, is calling for fish!
and in he comes ... its a whopper
