The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Hi Willow, Oh I had forgotten about that dead bird! Lets hope that was a one off and we don't see that again!
Yes the nest is looking cosy and as for the house plant LOL, I suppose makes it homely :-)

Today's blog. The video about 33 sitting on Maya is quite funny. And nice pictures of him fishing.
Empty nest at the moment.

YESTERDAY
Strange! Maya and Blue33 were heads down "working", the browser refreshed and then there was a big clump of hay on the right side - only 9 seconds later :o
Camperson darted in for a quick close-up of B33 and greenery:
EDIT !!! Just checked back and see that you got a snap of that yesterday, KAREN - oh well, courtesy of the recording I've got his beak in, so I'll leave it ;-)
