The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
MaryGK said:Karen you must have been frazzled with the excitement of it all and posting all the news as it came in :-)
Mary, I am going to have to have a lie down, I am honestly exhausted!
And as for housework which I intended to do this morning, well the hoover is still sitting in the middle of the living room LOL
Oh Mary, great to see you posting again, I trust you have the techie issues now sorted.
Have missed early morning posts/sunrises (if any).
Wonder if they travelled together :)
Great news! Been out all morning and just arrived to see/hear the news.
Birdies LG DU update.
Karen I can well imagine, it gets so exciting when everything happens at once. I think the housework is something that will have to wait now lol...
I will only be here for a wee while though as have to go out again soon, oh if only we could ensconce ourselves in a darkened room with no interruptions other than Osprey watching ha ha....
