The purpose of this thread is for recording the season’s day to day activity at the Manton Bay nest thus freeing up the Rutland Osprey Project 2017 thread for general news on all the other birds, nests and projects.
For anyone new following Manton Bay, Maya and Blue 33(11) have been the resident pair for the last two years and to date have raised six chicks. More details about the nest and a table of the breeding data can be found here. Last season Maya returned on the 21 March and Blue 33(11) arrived a few days later on the 27 March.

I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
The hole appears to have been filled in.
I can only assume that that a member of the team is sorting out the mess (hole) the EGs created and removed the eggs?
Me too Mary, just looking as I pass by as watching Cheltenham.
How strange, I have never seen this before.
The cam has now gone down.
They have switched the camera's off

That hole the EG dug appeared deep!
It must have posed a risk for the osprey eggs or is it that these EGs are now more of a threat as they are increasing in number?
Looking forward to an update from Kayleigh later - it will be most interesting.
Cam back up. Nest has been repaired ... no hole and no egg(s)!! Just hope those EGs stay away!
Here's your worst nightmare.I don't want to worry you but I think they've just spotted the refurbished nest. LOL

How amazingly blue the water looks in the top cam. It does keep pausing briefly for me though. Currently ENS :)
