So apparently my ID assumptions were wrong. Now that EJ has finished her meal and is walking about I can see the dark breast.
This time it is sunset at Manton Bay
Good evening all. Good news Clarach has remained at loch ard seems as though she might settle there!
Really pleased that S6 has returned home :) When I first read this I initially though it was one of the Manton Bay chicks! Would be good to see one of tem return :)
I felt so sorry for EJ surrounded by snow and now hopefully that will be the last of it.

Good afternoon all. Love yor pics of EJ and Odin. Keith I am really hoping that S1, S2, S3 might be spotted some day :)
Your above post is interesting, I have heard of photographers disturbing long eared owls in order to get the photograph, but I think these irresponsible photographers are in the minority.
Willow, will you please tell us about the S birds. Where is their nest? What year were they hatched?
Looks as windy at Loch Garten as it is today in southwestern Ohio.
I posted this photo & comment on my Facebook page on April 29, 2016. So what else is new?
Hi June, S1, S2 and S3 (thought to be two males and a female when ringed) are the three chicks from the Manton Bay nest on Rutland Water from 2015. Their parents are the current pair at Manton Bay, Blue 33(11) and Maya (unringed). This is the first year they might be returning to the UK if they have survived so far. Mr GB and I saw them at Manton Bay in August of 2015 after they had fledged.
Kind regards, Ann
Thanks Ann. I'll so note in my Manton Bay page. Only way I can remember or distinguish one number from another.
