Here is the thread you have been waiting on. The book opens now and will close at midnight on Sunday 19/Monday 20 March 2017
Predictions should be in three parts
1. The day and date of EJ's arrival on the Loch Garten nest.
2. The time of day (make sure your time is not ambiguous)
3. Will EJ be carrying a fish?
So let the guessing begin.
One guess per forum member. Best of luck everyone.
Previous return dates for EJ are to be found here
Here is EJ arriving at about 9.45am on Monday 21st March 2016 (Thanks to scylla for the video)

Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!! So pleased. Had been watching all afternoon, but had to go out at 4pm so missed her arrival. IMO: the nest perch = the nest site = return to the nest??? But I'd say everyone's a winner -- just happy to have her back safely.
Safe travels Odin, hope to see you soon.
Well I never, I go the correct day, and with a fish, but a few hours out on the time!! Went on to see if she had returned fully expecting to see the empty nest and low and behold who was on the branch tucking into a fish, nearly fell of the chair!! BUT maybe she did arrive around 2.30!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Well, she finally landed on the nest at 5.27 this morning.
It's fair to say that Limpy was quite surprised when we learned she was back - happily he didn't jump up and down for joy as that could have been a seriously bad idea for him! I think I did it enough for the two of us anyway.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Has it been decided whose guess was the closest?????
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Obviously it is for Tiger to announce but since you ask :-))
IMO there are 5 winners –
1. Noc for being the first to hear EJ
2. Birdie Num Num for being the first to see/capture EJ
3. Limpy for guessing the closest time of EJ’s arrival at LG
4. Pot Shadley for guessing the closest time EJ landed on the nest
And of course, #5 has to be Odin, the partner of this fantastic lady and who will be with her presently ETI 16:25 this afternoon :-)
Drum roll please
But as Nature Lover say, we are all winners the fact EJ is back :-)
Logically, it's Limpy. You could argue that he incorrectly predicted no fish but whoever predicted the closest with fish (was it Nature Lover?) was that little bit further out time-wise.
Please feel free to argue with me as I happen to be married to Limpy!
Will we be getting an official announcement from RSPB when she returned?
Applying the rules strictly as written it seems that Pot Shadley got closest to the time EJ landed on the nest.
Congratulations Pot Shadley, great guess, well done :-)
Well Done Pot Shadley - for getting closest time....
