Happy New Week!
I'm sending love and strength to OG (Original Goldfinch) and to Eagle-Eye. Hoping for her rapid recovery.
I hope everyone has a great week!

I'm sure a lot of us have looked back at those last posts, from a caring person and a very good friend.
Rest In Peace, Brenda, and thanks for your kindness, friendship and help.
Today's pic, for Brenda:

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Dear BRENDA, she really was a Good Egg.
This is a lovely thread. Everyone on here is a Good Egg.
I'm expecting that everyone from here has been thinking of Brenda and her family today: we were so lucky to have known her. I tried last week, to write a poem in her memory, but everything you can say just sounds trite.
Let me just say that it was an honour to be counted amongst her friends, and that she showed all of us what being a good friend means.
I'm sorry if I've used a photo that someone else had posted of dear EJ and her brood: I found it on my tablet from pics taken last season and I don't know where I copied it from. But it just seemed appropriate, as Brenda loved the osps so much.
Something to cheer us up a bit:
I took this of a pot of hyacinths on my windowsill, they have been so good this year and the smell is just amazing!
My hyacinth, grown for the first time in a glass vase so I can see the roots, is doing well, and will probably flower in about ten days. My amaryllis - a Christmas gift - is fantastic, with one flower stem with two enormous blooms and a second with no fewer than four blooms. Wonderful Christmas presents that last so much longer than a box of chocolates!
Absolutely, Pat. I remember my mother always used to grow the bulbs in a special vase where you could see the roots growing: it was fascinating.
Bulbs do make a lovely gift: I remarked to my OH only yesterday that these hyacinths have been better than a bunch of anything (although I bought them for myself, LOL!)
