Hi folks, its been a day of contrasts. Eldest has enjoyed his freedom by flying backwards and forward to the camera post and then landing on the nest. The other two have been doing exercising but as yet have not taken their maiden flights.
Only 2 fish late afternoon and then one very small one in the evening. They are keeping them lean and kean so to speak.
Two are asleep on the nest and the eldest is on the cam post, I think.
Happy viewing, see you in the morning.

Hi everyone,
I hope today if EJ and Odin want them to learn to feed themselves they at least bring enough fish for them to practice on. If they are too hungry they may not concentrate on exercising their wings .
Two are awake preening. Maybe they are too hungry to sleep
EDIT: Two are "standing" on the nest are sleeping with their beaks on their backs. The eldest is either on the camera post or in a tree. They are doing things that last year's brood didn't do until just before they left on their mirgration.

LG ospreys are well-known for re-writing the What-they-do book :-) Two on the nest preening. Oh, now they have tucked their heads under wing. And lo, 'tis colour! A misty morn.
One GEM is grumbling that he is hungry. The other does some wingercise. Will #2 fledge today? No need to say watch this space LOL
#3 is food soliciting and EJ ( I think) is returning it's call or calling Odin to go fishing
Beautiful morning in LG

The grizzler keeps looking up at the camera post - as if to tell sibling "Go on, you can fly now. Go and fetch some fish!"

Just like this, eh
Auntie - Yes !!!! We have a saying "If looks could kill . . . ."
AQ, we that saying too :) But I must go now, hope there will be some breakfast soon(ish)
Allison has 2 videos on the main blog of yesterdays food fight. They are near the bottom of the blog.
If anyone doubts the wisdom of the center not going up to ring and tag the chicks on Saturday just look at the vicious fight that took place. One attacked the other 2 chicks and attacked EJ several times. It was not just a pushing contest
These chicks are very developed .
There is another video by Theresa ( I think) showing 2 of the chicks defending the nest against an intruder. They are handling it like a adult Ospreys. Only one chick is laying down the other 2 are ready to do battle.
