HAPPY NEW WEEK! Hello to everyone, and I hope you all have a good week.
I thought I would begin the week by honouring Brenda. She was a wise and truly kind person, and she will be missed.
Oh, dear, OG. So pleased to hear that you got prompt and kind help at the hospital.
How painful it all sounds: I presume it's swelled, too. I do hope you can get a good night's sleep tonight, and catch up on some rest.
We've had a really cold day here with sleet occasionally, so the only outing we've had was my OH taking Bonnie for her morning and evening walks. He found this uncomfortable as last night he fell over a step and badly stubbed his big toe - it's already gone black. I've caught up with some communications in the family, replying to some letters enclosed in Christmas cards. Just going to make some ham omelettes for our tea, then sit by the fire.
Does anyone on here enjoy Strictly Come Dancing? You might just enjoy this thread if you do!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
OG So sorry you are in such pain. I hope those pain killers act quickly.
Morning all: Out like a light last night. Pouring rain here again; so pleased we had sunshine for the LA march. Was quite an experience - a good one - haven't been to a demonstration since GWBush insisted on taking us all into Iraq for those elusive WMDs.
OG: Really sorry about the leg and hospital instead of church. Still, good to hear of nice doc and that the guys are taking good care of you. Wonder what set it off?
Heather: That's a lovely dream/visit you had re your OH. Sometimes I wonder about all those experiences... Soon after my mother died I had a vivid dream where she came to my bedside, leaned over me and said 'Don't let the children [grandchildren, etc]forget me.' Fat chance of that as I spout her favorite sayings (giving credit) every time I see them!
Here's photo of someone, obviously channeling Mary Poppins, with a clever poster. Photo was taken at the DC march but also spotted in LA. Not credited as far as I could see and can't find the original now. Diane: You've probably seen it in other formats... I also liked "Ikea has better cabinets." :-)
Hallo to everyone else - thanks for lovely pix and news. Stay warm, dry, and safe.
Love the poster, Annette! Very inventive. Heard that when Tussauds decided to make a waxwork of Trump, they had to use Yak fur for the hair, as human hair wouldn't do........
OK. I've been through my photos from the Ferry - who'd like to click on our lovely Harbourmaster to see the rest?

Back from daughter's home, lovely meal and much love and caring from them. Plus a bag of washing :-)) They don't have a dryer so struggling a bit with this cold weather and no wind...
OG- I'm so sorry about your bad night. I wonder what has triggered off such pain. So glad that your boys are there for you. Given that you live with pain every day, this must have been really bad. I'm hoping to hear, tomorrow, that things have improved somewhat xx
Thanks everybody - managed to doze 10 mins then another 10 just before dinner - then had little appetite because I wasn't properly awake - and that won't do me any harm! OH is going out tomorrow morning - pre-arranged special messages in Dumfries and shopping in Morrisons while he is there. I have promised to restrict myself to Study and Boys' Shower Room, so I have the shortest possible distances to walk!
CLARE - lovely morning skies!
HEATHER - pleased it was a lovely lunch - and that you are letting the family look after you - it's definitely your turn, even if you do end up with the washing and drying for them!
Evening medication down - hope it will kick-in before I go to bed!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Phew. Finally sorted through my photos from Trimley Marshes - I think I'll be posting them tomorrow as I can barely keep my eyes open!
See you all in the morning.
