WEEKLY CHAT (NON-OSPREY) SUNDAY JANUARY 8 2017

Morning all. Here's to a good week for all.

  • Good morning.  Quite a frost here at 10pm last night, then rain about 4am and just over 2 degrees this morning – probably need for extra care as some patchy ice remains.  No snow.  I hope Clare’s part of Felixstowe is safe, and that everyone can stay off the roads and pavements as much as possible.  I’m not going anywhere!

Wendy – that sounds a good bracing walk for you three – I’m sure Daisy had fun in the snow.

Dibnlib – good that Benson got checked over while he was under; good luck with toothbrush training!

Clare – pleased you both enjoyed the Photography Society so much.  Stay safe today – no going to photograph the big waves!

AQ – strange weather, indeed.  Hope your head is better now.

Annette – has been a lovely full moon – when visible.  Hope you can get a better start to the day today.

Wendy – very orange sunrise here – so it is coming your way!

Postponed hairdresser visit happening after lunch – but she lives just around the corner (well three corners actually, but very near) so should arrive okay.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • PS no sunrise yet....our mornings take forever to stretch out:-(

    Not on your nelly!

I've just read that due to a change in the forecast they're no longer going to need to evacuate Jaywick.  That's really good news.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • The promised snow has arrived here.  Lovely......!

  • LINDY   love it that you are posting those smiley pics again.

CLARE keep safe you and Limpey.

off for another swim and coffee. Stubbed a toe really badly last night. It is black and blue. So my heel and ankle hurt on the left leg and a toe on the right.  HELP. Good thing my friend will bring me home after coffee as I couldn't do the bus and a 12 min walk home the state I am in!!!

  • We had a lot of snow yesterday evening, and then the big freeze overnight.  This morning the sun is shining, but it looks very cold - the road outside my kitchen window is frozen solid.  I've cancelled my planned outing this morning - don't fancy the wiggly, untreated country roads between here and there - so an unexpected morning at home.  No excuse, I'll just have to finish sorting out what I started yesterday ...

  • Hope you've got it done, Pat.  Agree with not going out anywhere -- I've stayed at home, although my OH has been out to the builders merchants to buy a bag of sand. He's preparing where the new tool store is going to sit, under the kitchen window. It's already crazy paved, but the frost and rain have made it uneven, so he's lifting the slabs and relaying and grouting them. The snow melted when the sun came out, so it's not too unpleasant, although there's a cold wind.

My Friend is off out with some neighbours of hers today, to see the newest film out, "La La Land" , which is a musical. She's going to let us know how it was, as we (my OH & I) may go and see it next week.

  • Dibnlib - Ouch!  That's nasty..... Hope the pain subsides soon.

Hope that OGs hairdresser arrived in the end.  There's been a huge, bright moon when not covered by the clouds, lately.

Thinking of Brenda and Margo, and hoping that Diane is getting on with her new work project OK.

  • Brilliant sunshine this morning. The LA Times reports that only 2% of the state is still in an Extreme Drought. Guess which 2%?  :-((  Still, more rain due next week so fingers crossed here.   Lightning to vet this morning; then the gym then haircut this p.m.

Lindybird: My friend saw La-La Land. Said it made her miss Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Will be interested to hear what your friend thinks.   Being a major Google Earth Street View user, I want to see Lion.

OG: Did they ever come back and finish your steps?

dibnlib: No walks for you by the sounds of it.

Best thoughts to Margo, Heather and Brenda.  And yes, hope Diane is keeping busy -and warm.

Bracing ourselves for the predicted flooding at around midday

I messaged LIMPY and then thought "Oh I know where to find Clare!" ... so here I am, checking up on you ;-)

It sounds hopeful that you won't be disrupted or endangered, I've got all digits crossed for you and dear family :-*
