To get round the "no rings" problem, I know it is a tall order. Please contribute, any relevant information or images that illustrate the significant differences, markings, mannerisms? Well you get the idea, I hope.

Thanks for more identification tips. By the time I get the hang of it they will have left. Can sometimes pick out Titch but that is about it.

I used this thread in earnest last night when trying to ID recent pics of the juves on Daily Update and found it really useful - so thanks to jsb for having the foresight to start it.
Sandy: I am hoping to spend some time, doing what you did, to try to get some agreed ID features for each juvenile. The problem is that I am under a bit of pressure at the present with other things.
The head seems to be the best guide and other aspects, like stance, mannerisms and so on, that have been suggested. So if there are any proposals, that folks have, please post them here. Thanks.
No worries jsb, we have a wealth of pics and clips both on the DU pages and elsewhere so we've got lots of evidence to look through at our leisure. I'm trying to use these last few days of the juves presence to try to establish approximate leaving dates for each one. I'm convinced it's possible to do this by establishing the last confirmed sighting that is documented.
Meanwhile, Lindybird posted these great shots of #1 on Thursday, 12th August:

Sandy Those of #2 and #3 are really good as they show just why it can be quite hard to distinguish between the two. They have got similarities but as always it gets easier with time.
When the DPOF nest was active we always hd to rely on markings for identications because being the purist that they were they did not believe in ringing or tagging. We always managed to tell the chicks apart.
