  • I hope Margo has got through today OK.

  • OG - Good that you managed the dentist OK. Hope you've got over it now! :-)

Heather - It's hard when someone you care about is depressed. Maybe Brenda is right, and he needs distraction from his worries.

I was watching the garden through the kitchen window this afternoon, and the leaves were falling from our apple tree just like in a speeded up Nature Film....the wind must have just caught them at the right time for them to let go.

  • Limpy - I've been thinking a lot about Margo today. Love to you if you're reading, Margo xxxx

  • Evening all:  Lightning was off to vets again this afternoon.  She doesn't seem to be doing any better.  An X-ray (free courtesy of lovely vet, which is nice given the mounting $$$$s) indicated internal displacement of organs. We're doing a couple more tests for her weeing problem and then, given her age, will stop there and focus on keeping her comfy as much as possible.  Poor old puss!

Brenda: I'm also not sure I'd want to tackle Margo's job so soon, but I see others feel it's the best way to go.  Will be thinking of her tomorrow too.  Re water turn off, maybe Lindybird's OH will pop around with a bucket of water for the loo! :-)

Heather: Oh dear. Well, at least you got a break when SiL's were around.

Very best thoughts to all for a good Tuesday...

  • Good Morning, Everbody.

ANNETTE -  What a shame, poor Lightning. Your Vet does indeed sound very kind - just the sort of vet you can trust.

Damp, misty and grey here. Started sorting out stuff from cupboards yesterday, so will have to buckle down and finish the job today.

  • ANNETTE - sorry about poor old Lightning.  As you say, keep her comfortable while you can, and you'll know when the time has come ...

Very windy early morning, which kept frost away - but still cold; supposed to see some sunshine later.

OH has gone to see about replacing tyres before our weekend trip, so I am home alone - which means (guess what) tackling next pile of ironing - also ready for the weekend.

Talked to Dau#2 last evening - she and Partner went to see her Granddaughter on Saturday; says she really is a lovely baby, so we are even more looking forward to next Monday.  Done a very Great-grandparent thing - bought a frivolous pink teddy for the first time in our lives!  Also got useful things to take.

Thinking of MARGO having her transfusion today.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Annette- as OG said, just keep Lightning comfy and you'll know when it's time. You've done everything you could. Actually, THEY know when it's time.

  • Ironing done - even did a top to wear tomorrow to the show.

No success with tyres yet - will get them Thursday, as if we didn't have enough to do that day!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Afternoon, Everyone,

I have been in Wiltshire for a few days visiting my sister. We went to see the Illuminations at Longleat. They were  mostly  Beatrix Potter characters, and were very good, particularly, I though, the vegetables. They were made on site, apparently, by a company from China. The various animals, flowers and vegetables were all made of silk. We did think that Mr. McGregor looked slightly Oriental!

Diane, I am sure that R T Hawk was telling you that he was glad that you were home, but did you have to make so much noise about it!

Sympathies for those undergoing dental treatments. At least now we get to keep our teeth. Our parents used to have them in containers at night!

This made for an interesting time when I was a junior nurse. ( Remember Heather)? We  used to have to collect them up at night and take them to the sluice room for cleaning. Things could get a bit pear shaped if we were very busy, or got interrupted, and couldn't remember the rightful owner!

  • Also thinking of Margo. Everyone has to handle things in their own way.

    Wishing you strength, Margo.
