Hope the new week is kind to all...
Lindybird: How distressing for your friends who moved to a town house. My sister and BiL have a lovely house in the country but are thinking they should be closer to services/family - all in Bucks - and are very concerned about the options.
Lynette: Was this your former family home that's listed and has been in limbo for a year? You mention a landlord who went broke....
Hot here these last couple of days and more to come, but still, we've had a nice summer. Got my "project" table in from the garage tonight with an eye to starting on the dreaded sorting and culling of photos taken over the last - um - decade.
It was granddaughter's birthday today. She went out with her coworkers last night but didn't have a great time. She now works with people in detox treatment and apparently saw too many party types throwing back the booze who reminded her of her clients.
Anyway, best thoughts for all for the coming week.
Hi all, just catching up with the news.
HeatherB - that is great news re SinL and no redundancy, must be a load off your dau's mind.
AQ - well done but again, don't overdo it.OH, see you've been on another bus trip. Glad it went well.
Not at the gym today as awaiting window cleaner who is hopefully going to do the conservatory roof as well as all the house windows for us. Roof hasn't been done since conservatory was erected so needs some TLC.
Alan - thank you for the flagging up of Autumn Watch.
OG - well done getting the newsletter together. Glad you enjoyed your lunch out with friends.

Lindybird - wicked thought re S in L and her bathroom. It must be tedious when a cousin turns up and wants to outpour all about the ancestry. I am still doing mine, find I have a lot of distant relatives from the Isle of Wight - all dead of course now, but would not inflict all and sundry onto present day relatives. Just hope the people in the Lake District will welcome her!!!!!!!
Couldn't agree more Lindy, re OH's and grumpyness from time to time. My OH hates change and likes things to stay the same. As you say we battle on and just get on with life. Still wouldn't swap for anything.
Dibnlib - despite you not getting to the gym you nevertheless enjoyed your walk and in the woods too, lovely. The sedum looks glorious. Now and again I get a call re computer and problems with it. I just reply that I don't do cold calling and put the phone down.
AQ - looks like you had a storm and a half. Do hope that everything has settled down again.
Lindy - love the poem about the "pea". lol.
Started off damp but has now cleared up and we have sunshine and cloud.
Was watching the live safari the other day and they were following a family of lions
the cubs
the lionesses
male with female, I believe he was stalking her re mating.
LINDY love the pea poem. It sounds a bit like OHs Dad, who apparently manages to push more peas off the plate than into his mouth. Guess I will be doing the same before too long!!!!
I love peas....doesn't matter which kind, tinned, frozen, mushy, fresh.......They're all green and they're all yummy. ;-)
Found the above on Facebook and thought you would enjoy it too.
Morning all: Daughter expected here in an hour for flight to Arizona to spend a week with granddaughter and Ms D. I will have the dog and be providing back-up horse-feeding services. Bunny is going to grandson's house.
dibnlib: That photo is wonderful (Who is that handsome fella?) :-)
Lindybird: Your OH deserves a medal; I bet his halo is bright and shiny. When are you leaving on your cruise?
Stuff to do here; back later. Hi to everyone and of course to Margo and Diane, who get hugs too.
That's lovely, dibnlib.
I've had an email from Margo, and without rabbitting on, I will just say that she felt rather washed out last weekend, but has seen her consultant and had another transfusion, so is hoping to feel more perky by tomorrow.
My OH went to his Thursday game of golf today, though he did look rather tired. We leave the UK on an early flight on Saturday, so will be rising at what folks call Silly O'clock!!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
