WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 2016

Hallo all.  Off to eat pizza and drink wine. Back later.

  • A lovely thing to say, Dibnlib.

Dogs sometimes have back problems, don't they? Hope it improves for him.

Rather dismayed to hear that the BBC will not be doing the GBBakeOff series in future - it just won't be the same on Channel 4!! With adverts! And less time! And probably, I've just heard, without Sue & Mel :-(

  • DIBNLIB - pleased the boy is improving - and hope your friend's dog will not show anything too serious in X-rays.

LINDA - don't watch Bake-Off myself, but can't miss it on other programmes, and can't imagine it other than on BBC with Mel and Sue.  Ridiculous amount of money involved in decision.

    Rain came, so no mow.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Welcome Simon. As OG says, we rarely see Mods (apart from the self-appointed ones), generally being a tolerant and supportive group who know well enough to ignore the occasional passionate post.  :-)

  • OG/LINDY   Have never watched "Bake Off" but realise some are ardent fans. Couldn't quite believe what I heard earlier though on the radio. Someone said they had been driving when they heard the show was leaving the Beeb and they had to pull over and park as they were so upset they were unable to continue driving!!!!

    Hello Clare.

    Yes, I suppose I am :)

I've been working at the RSPB a few months now and today is the first time I've assisted the existing moderation team.

    Simon

Well, welcome to the madhouse!  Are you enjoying the job?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good morning; Sunshine!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Morning!  Sunshine here, too.  Yesterday was very strange - we left Wales in a giant misty cloud, and it was dry when we got home, but later we had heavy thundery rain, followed by an actual storm. Very warm throughout.

Today is supposed to be warm but more settled, with odd showers.

Lots to do - can start by filling the line with the laundry I did yesterday, and I have a big ' To Do List'........

  • A flock of geese just flew over.....wonderful.  I love 'em!!

  • There is a lovely three masted sailing ship on the Shetland webcam at present, on the Lerwick view cam.

  • Good morning, all.

Another dull day here, nothing planned except the dreaded ironing.

Kitchen is progressing well, I am losing a bit of sleep thinking about things but am used to that. It really is amazing how much difference losing the 'across the corner' hob and cooker hood has made. Also have intentionally lost the integral table. The room immediately looked larger without these two features.

I have been looking here every day but will not make any attempts at replies, please forgive.

Sending good thoughts to all, especially those with family and/or health worries.
