No prizes for predicting the opening shot of today's DU - CC's beautiful "Dutch masterpiece" treatment of Odin and Willow @ 0703hr yesterday morning - Willow with his breakfast, waiting to be left in peace ;-)

.
Willow was heard throughout the day, on and off, and last seen on the nest just before 7 in the evening:
We shall be watching and listening eagerly from the pre-dawn hour.

Yes I did Sheila. Hope to save Scylla a mass of work when she surfaces!
Birdies LG DU update.
You are so kind Mike! I am sure she will appreciate it. Did they say exactly when in the 'early morning'?
I really must get on with other things, but will pop back now and again.

No but Scylla thought she heard Willow at 0623 so I'm guessing that is around the time when the forward hide crew may have seen him.

He sure is! Thanks, MIKE :-* I presume the early-morning sighting of Willow was reported to the VC by the nightwatch and that the VC haven't seen anyone at all.
Yes, SHEILA, it was an alarmy call from Willow.
Hi MC. Correct, Report from the Forward Hide. Nothing since.

OSPREY on the nest !!!
Chipping and mantling... flown !!!
I didn't think it looked like one of ours but it could have been Odin "stretched".
I've got the video - but guess what?! The fly-off seemed to have a small buffer - BUT - I set up VLC on a broken laptop this morning and that has captured more than the fly-off, it was a big buffer and another osprey appeared in the top left of the picture, hovering, and that seems to be what drove off the intruder.
This version should have improved sound, I'm posting it here so I can listen to both in exactly the same circs.
