Well folks, its been a disappointing day in the fact that the three bairns will not be named, tagged or ringed but that has come from official lines as I hope all of you have seen and we have to acknowledge the expertise of the powers that be.Nevertheless, there has been a lot of wing exercising and mini flights on the nest during the course of the day. Not many fish were delivered, but hey, they have to get trim so they can fledge properly.
Paul, you will see that I have replied to you on the last of the posts for yesterday.
All at peace and sleeping with the odd plink plonk of what sounds like rain.!!!!!!!
Happy viewing and see you in the morning, night, night.

Two alone !!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I heard the chirping off screen preceeded by a flapping of wings. After the wing flap off camera, EJ flew off.

I see EJ has left the nest and the youngest, we think, has not returned yet. Lets hope it is in a nearbye tree.
If the youngest has flown off, I do hope its feathers are strong enough in these gusty winds....just a thought. Surely the eldest would/should go first. I can't tell them apart these days, other than the long tail/short tail feathers. Where has it gone??
Alison Elder posted this link to the 'lift off'''

Not sure if this was a fledge or a flight up to the cam. The other two seemed to follow it's flight but then EJ arrived, alarm calling and chased off an intruder. Were the two remaining chicks watching the flight of the intruder or their sib? Here is some footage:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG5qzce3k
