Weekly Chat Sunday July 11th

Happy New Week!  We’re back – Son is ok.  He was facing a court appearance re an allegation against him, but in the end did not have to appear and is in the clear.  Not a nice experience.

Been to LG and LotL – and got new long lens for camera!  More tomorrow.  Thanks for all the support – so pleased to be back here with you all!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • AQ: Yes, it was a long program on National Geographic Wild. They covered the entire process. It truly was extraordinary. They are marvels. I've often thought that I'd like to be able to travel like a kangaroo. :-)

By the way, AQ, Annette, and anyone else who's around. I just watched the most remarkable video! If you can view this, take a look. It's very short. The video is from an ABC News piece on a mysterious craft that appeared over an airport in China on July 7. The airport was shut down, and 18 flights delayed! The footage made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I mean, I know it isn't extraterrestrial (well...probably not), but sheesh....

  • Diane: I just looked at that video and notice that the report is made up of still photos, which makes me wonder.....   Still there've been lots of eyewitness accounts of strange sightings, so who knows?  In the meantime, I think I'll stick with the ospreys!  :-)   Doesn't help that I'm watching The Amityville Horror right now!

  • Hm, we think we know what it was but are not going to tell you.

  • AQ: I know. They also made a cryptic reference to a "military connection". Creepy.

Annette: I can't watch movies like the Amityville Horror. This house is very old, and it makes all kinds of spooky creaks and groans at night. LOL I read Floating Dragon by Peter Straub the other day, and then I couldn't sleep well for two nights. LOL

Well, on that note, I'm off to bed. Probably won't be on tomorrow. Shopping and cleaning mission. Everyone have a nice Friday.

  • Diane: If I lived in an old house surrounded by woods I wouldn't be watching a horror movie either!

  • I am reading a Peter James 'Dead Simple" about a claustrophobic stag night 'prank'. Ugh. I've got to finish it tonight so I can sleep. Must dash. Kitchen awaits.

  • Morning, All.   Drizzle & damp here, again. Just have to get the hoover out today, & try not to watch osps all day.  Also short shopping mission (not much to eat in the house) & put stuff back in the kitchen now he's finished the ceiling.  <sigh> -  still havn't finished the Paul McCartney Autobiography yet - mind you, it is an extremely thick book.

  • AQ, I must try Peter James, sounds like my kind of book. Also mean to try Henning Mankell , he was on Radio 4 the other day talking about his latest Wallander but I've only seen it on TV.  We learnt about baby kangaroos crawling out of the pouch and up mum's front while at primary school, it's the only animal birth type film I remember from school. I think they said it was an inch long. Smaller than an osprey then.  Loved the first rule to success, guess we'll never find out the other, LOL.

  • AQ  very good book you are reading. Think you would enjoy the Lynda La Plante books. Was going to mention to ANNETTE that I particularly enjoyed Cold Shoulder, Cold Heart and Cold Blood.  Ordered a Steig Larsson from the library, unfortunately it turns out to be the 3rd book and in this case I feel they should be read in order so I will return it this am and ask them to get me the first.

  • Meant to say, where do I find AUNTIEs pic of the whopping great fish........By the time I looked at the nest they had finished it

If it rains here much more I will be able to have a paddle in my garden!!!!   We have had it so wet that the poor bedding plants have really suffered and I really doubt they will revive
