Weekly Chat Sunday July 11th

Happy New Week!  We’re back – Son is ok.  He was facing a court appearance re an allegation against him, but in the end did not have to appear and is in the clear.  Not a nice experience.

Been to LG and LotL – and got new long lens for camera!  More tomorrow.  Thanks for all the support – so pleased to be back here with you all!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • A quick reply to a few posts:

auntie:  So good to hear that your Mum is home now, hope she gets lots of help to get her back into things again. It sounds really hot there - pity you can't store that sunshine up and save some of it for the Winter!

Diane:  Can smell that banana & Walnut cake cooking from here.... my mouth is drooling!

Annette:  Great that the carpets are all done, hope you can soon sit back & relax a bit.   (kids seem to think that we all have a money tree in the garden!)

Have been shopping, cleaning, visiting OH's elderly Auntie (who gave Dog a whole biscuit, which he promptly ate in one huge CRUNCH!) & making phone calls.  Why are my children never at home!

Going to watch some DVDs tonight as not much on TV - with glass of red wine....

  • On the feeder today we have been watching 2 young goldfinches, 1 male greenfinch, 3 or 4 young bluetits, 3 young great tits, 5 or 6 young chaffinches and a woodpecker, plus associated adults, oh and a couple of dozen house sparrows and a willow warbler (not on the feeder but nearby).  Also have 4 swallows peering over the edge of a new nest in what used to be a milking parlour, up on the beams.  An exciting day!

  • Hi all: Just came in from an hour's nap in the garden in my English-style deck chair. Needed a couple of pieces of chocolate. May go back out with a book in a minute.

BrendaH:  Did not faint and now ball is back in grandson's court; he needs to get us some information and back it up with documentation and action!   'Fraid he may be a potential member of the Lost the Plot club (or maybe the Never Found the Plot in the First Place club)!    Sigh.

dibnlib:   Ha-ha. Yes, maybe we haven't lost the plot after all.   I don't which gene is missing with kids/adults who take advantage of others. Let's hope the esearchers find it soon and figure out how to fix it.   Have not visited the Daily Update page this afternoon to see which way the political wind is blowing, if at all. Curious about tonight's shift.  :-)

Lindybird: Going out for cheap-and-cheerful Chinese dinner at local hole-in-the-wall with friends; then home to watch ospreys and see if anything worth watching on telly.

TerryM:  What a lovely collection of visitors - but what jumped out at me was "milking parlour."  It sounds so wonderfully rural.

Quiet on here today - no OG, Heather, Alan......

  • Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the posts and pics.  This thread is utterly brilliant, with subjects ranging from bright coloured houses to the Amish communities of parts of USA.  Honestly if you want info just read a few Weekly Chats and you'll probably find something of great use.  Appoligies for not making any individaul replies but I'd feel bad at missing something important out.

As for the abusive overly political posts on yestarday's Daily Update.  I can only say: Top quality blanking ladies and gents.  Brilliant way to deal with an attention seeker.  If that's a fellow Scot, I can only appologise.

    Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.
