AUGUST sneaked up on me, but apparently no one noticed.
August is my least favorite month, considering the too hot, too humid weather here in southwest Ohio.
In the osprey world, AUGUST is the month for all our ospreys to start their migrations. Willow and Rowan will be starting their long journey to Africa which will be their home for the next two years. They have not been tagged, so we have no way of following their progress or lack thereof. GOOD LUCK to them as they start this long difficult journey, to all the other juveniles we are following, as well as best wishes for their parents and all ospreys known or unknown.
From Facebook:
I just recieved word from a good friend of these Live cams for osprey in Maine and bear catching salmon this minute in Alaska.

Good evening June I think I posted on last months thread! August has taken me by surprise again! Even writing wrong date on train register! love your pic of the flowers and of course EJ fishing she's such a beautiful bird :)
We have had some very hot weather here the last few weeks but yesterday it rained all day and night! The rain was very welcome and my garden was looking very dry. My garden is looking very dull this year as I have not done much work in there Seem to have no time lately :)
Love your new month summaries. It is the month our beautiful ospreys will depart, the time I dread so much. I also think just how quickly the year passes and it really won't be long before they are back again LOL!
Thanks WILLOW, I really love writing them, but sometimes it is difficult to find a topic, or picture when the mind is blank. That happens when I am feeling discouraged.
Reading back Willow, it seems August sneaked up on both of us. But I was only one day late - you are THREE! :)
As to time I have been watching the bear cam in Alaska. At 10pm here in Ohio it is quite dark, but in Alaska it is 7pm and still light, so watching is good. At one time 4 bears were present, a good sized white bird flew back and forth across the screen and salmon, which appear black against the white water, are jumping up the falls 2 to 5 or 6 at a time. Fascinating action and lovely water scenery.
So what have I got.? A pic with almost no action at all. There is one bear eating a fish (sound familiar??) on the far side of the stream. And I believe a white bird against the white water on the black outcrop to the left.
Back to time, I asked Keith about time where he is, but We may not hear from Keith until he is back home and rested up, so I have tried to answer my own question.
Alaska 7:00 pm Tuesday August 3rd, 2016
Ohio 10:00 pm Tues.. Aug 3rd
Scotland 3:00 am Wednesday Aug 4th
Korea 12:00 Noon Wed Aug 4th
WHEW! I'm tired! Good night, sweet dreams, all.
June, Thanks for the Alaska Bear Cam--wonderful!
Kind regards, Ann
