AUGUST sneaked up on me, but apparently no one noticed.
August is my least favorite month, considering the too hot, too humid weather here in southwest Ohio.
In the osprey world, AUGUST is the month for all our ospreys to start their migrations. Willow and Rowan will be starting their long journey to Africa which will be their home for the next two years. They have not been tagged, so we have no way of following their progress or lack thereof. GOOD LUCK to them as they start this long difficult journey, to all the other juveniles we are following, as well as best wishes for their parents and all ospreys known or unknown.
But let us be positive! Some of my Favorite August things:
Wat ermelon is at its best tasting and cheapest during August.
Flowers should be in full bloom this month. These pictured below are annuals very commonly grown in this area. They like our hot, humid weather and usually do well here. These are from a 70 foot bed grown by a friend SUSAN JONES with help from her menfolk for the heavy work. Good job, Susan!
Now to get back to our osprey. I found EJ (white band) on the nest talking back and forth with another osprey somewhere close by at 1:30 pm(6:30).

On ce again Keith has inspired me to do some streetwalking. This is somewhere in the close vicinity of Varna, Bulgaria.
I seem to have dropped into a favorite beach/amusement area at the shore of Varna itself.
JUNE - Too late to find me walking the streets of Varna. Had to come home to go to Korea.
After 25 hours travelling through France and China finally got here in Korea and still able to watch the ospreys progress.
I knew you were home from Varna - still felt like looking it up. I had a few more pictures to post, but got tired & quit.
GLAD TO KNOW you are now in Korea. I am overwhelmed! Korea and Japan and China are places I would NEVER want to be! Never any place east of New Zealand, really.
Hope your stay there is a pleasant and exciting one. BTW, is it today or yesterday or tomorrow where you are??
I have already checked out Korea on Google map and as I suspected, there are no blue roads to turn yellow on close-up. There are, however, photographs.
