HAPPY NEW WEEK!
In haste - just to say it was good to hear from MARGO on the thread - but sorry you have just been through an extra tough time - take care!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
DIBNLIB- your recipe for the chorizo salad sounds good. The sweetness of the melon and honey to balance the chorizo. I will definitely do it as I have quite a lot of chorizo left.
CLARE Tesco and ASDA too, eh? Amazing.
Been watching political speeches all evening, the last night of the Democrats convention. Off to bed now....
Good Morning. Have the family here, so no time to post. Amber has grown about 6inches in only a few weeks!
Have a good weekend, All.
LINDY Enjoy your time with the family.
Looks like my Aunts funeral with be Friday so as OH is working we won't be going. If the time was right I could catch the mega bus to Edn and then a train out, hoping my bro would pick me up, but then afterwards it may not be poss to get home the same day and as my bro is in a 1 bed flat he can't put me up.
It is a pleasant morning and we are expecting a friend for lunch. OH is out at the mo as he has a hosp appt. Anyway best get on.
A busy day all round by the looks of it.
For those who want a fascinating book, check out On The Map: A Mind-Expanding Exploration of the Way the World Looks by Simon Garfield. He describes - with lovely humorous undertones - the evolution of maps from Ptolemy to Google Earth. Centuries of history, geology, etc., etc., all rolled into a lovely and engrossing read. :-))
Thanks, Annette, looks good. BTW, different subtitle in UK, but definitely same book!
A funny day here. Had one or two disturbing conversations last evening with OH's family, leaving me feeling responsible for sorting out their problems. Not sure if that was their intention or something that I just felt I should do. Upshot, very little sleep last night and a troubled day. Have had a conversation with stepson which has made me feel better but still very tired :-(
Hopefully back here tomorrow and full of beans!!
HEATHER Shouldn't they be sorting out their own problems. Hope I don't sound too brusque. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.
OG: Well, are we surprised the "mind-expanding" part of the subtitle was added for the U.S. market! :-)
Heather: You are NOT responsible for sorting out OH's family's problems. Be appropriately sympathetic and encouraging, telling them "I'm sure you'll be able to work things out" or words to that effect, then hang up and pour a glass of wine. Then when you go to bed, repeat to yourself "They are all grown ups."
