WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY JULY 10, 2016

Happy New Week all.

  • I'm inclined to agree, CLARE.

  • Joyful.  The weather here is modelling itself on Niagara Falls.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • No rain here today but no sun either. Summer?

  • Well, it's dry at LG and Dyfi actually looks bright!  It was beautiful here this morning.

  • Had an away 'friendly' bowls match arranged for this afternoon. It started raining at midday, and hasn't stopped since.

We arrived there, as forecast showed light cloud, but had to abandon the game.

Have just put some washing on instead, Life is exciting!

Very sorry for your grandchildren, Heather.

Thank you for news of Willow, Clare. I had to look at LG straight away.

  • Sarah has posted a new Blog.

  • Clare: Thanks for news of Willow fledging (not that I was watching). :-(

Heather: Oh I would be spitting nails! I absolutely do not forgive letting kiddies down (unless in life or death matters).  A sad lesson for them that their Dad can't get it together, but maybe a valuable one for the future.  Really sorry to read that.

Lindybird: Oh gorgeous and extravagant poppy! Not an orchid person myself - they are too "mannered" for me. How old is your friend's dog? Can't imagine being that houseproud with animals (or kids) around. Our carpet has been wee-ed on by Lightning several times and really needs replacing, but not while poor old puss is still tottering around.  Bummer about the weather..

Off to outlet center for new gym shoes and Target for exciting household stuff and who knows what else....

  • HEATHER  Feeling very sorry for Callum and Amy.

My OH was a Sqn Ldr air traffic controller in the Royal Air Force and considered himself to be part of a team, no matter the rank. Can't answer for the Army.

  • LINDY/ANNETTE   Met someone in the woods one day. She had the most beautiful dalmatian.  She had a friend who was moving to a new house with new everything with it. Friend had decided she didn't want to keep the dog in her sparkling new house. I really can't remember if she was going to have the dog put to sleep or take it to a rescue home. Anyway the person I met was appalled and took the dog home. Needless to say she is no longer friends with the previous owner!!!  Some people have the strangest priorities. Linda, so glad your friend has both a dog and a spick and span house.

OH is meeting a ex colleague of many years ago on Thurs Friend is doing a John O'Groats to Lands End on a Brompton folding bike on his own, with no back up, and carrying all the camping gear he will need Today he will be travelling from Shropshire to Wick by way of 4 trains. At Wick he gets on his bike to cycle to JOG, stays over and on Wed starts his mammoth journey. The first day is JOG to Dornoch, then on Thurs it is Dornoch to Fort Augustus. They will meet for lunch at Tiso. He is doing it for The RAF benevolent Fund.

  • I think on reflection that my ex son in law always had a callous streak. He probably would have been the same whether he was in the Armed Forces or not :-(
